Ryan Tannehill is one very excited Dolphin QB right now.

I like Ryan...but he also needs develop some pocket awareness...I don't care how talented an O-line you have...you can't hold on to the ball forever...

Let's give Thomas a chance at guard and I think he plays this year. He's also our swing tackle now. He's not going anywhere yet.

This is an enormous vote of confidence in Tannehill. Instead of picking a prospective replacement, they are building the team around him - a substantially upgraded OL, a blocking RB and a frigging Chris Carter clone at WR.
100%! We added to his cast. We went out and got FA OL and drafted 2 more. We got another WR who can make tough catches. We also brought in a hard nosed RB in Knowshon Moreno. I think this is quietly a possible big pick up for us. He had over 1,000 yard rushing last season with the Broncos (4.3 ypc) and had 60 catches for 548 yards with a 9.1 YPR average. That is a lot more catches (and longer catches) then L Miller, D Thomas and M Thigpen had combined last season. But it is two other reason why he was a good pick up for us. First, he is the tough inside runner we have needed. But maybe even bigger is his pass blocking. In the P Manning offense he really showed his smarts and his ability to block anyone coming from anywhere.

jason fox apparently is injured again, is in a walking boot, maybe somethin minor but i was stunned that we didn't go at another OL later on

We will see at the end of 2014 if the Oline was the problem or turnover Tannehill is another David Carr!

Tannehill is going to explode this year. And all the haters will have to eat crow!!

Where do comments like this come from? At least get your facts straight. He was near the top of the league in shortest time to throw.

David Carr didn't become David Carr until he was nearly killed by his line. If Tannehill busts, we will never know how much the bad line caused him to regress or stagnate. You can develop a lot of negative tendencies holding the ball for two seconds means you are going to get flattened because multiple members of your line can scarcely even provide a speed bump for opposing pass rushers. Once something becomes a survival instinct, it is hard to unlearn even when circumstances change.

Yes, he was, and he was also near top of the league in trying to get throws off while about to be flattened that he had no choice of getting out of his hand before being hit. Tannehill doesn't attempt to evade or even move with pressure, he tries to beat it with the throw.

Overstated. He pocket movement isn't as bad as people on this site make it out to be. I was hard to tell last year because of how often there was no pocket. I can't emphasize enough that a sack by 2 or 3 defensive linemen in 2.5 seconds is totally different than a sack by one defensive lineman in 3.5 or 4 seconds.

Both types of sacks happened frequently though. And when four guys held their blocks but a 5th let a guy through, Tannehill often never saw or at least never adjusted to the one guy coming at him.

This topic has been weighed, measured and been found lacking....Tannehill was sacked a top ten all time 58 times...and the facts and game film prove the overwhelming majority of them were the fault of pass protect...not the QB.

Because his eyes are downfield however its tuff to develop pocket awareness in 2.5saverage throughout the season being constantly hit. Either way this year hes going to have at least a second more with Moreno and better blocking from the TE.

All I needed to see was the Fins had Buffalo and the Jets for the last 2 games and turnover Tannehill threw one td in 2 games. You will never see another schedule that easy to get in the playoffs. I have a feeling this year will be no different and Philben will be sent packing!
