The glaring weaknesses............

Ryan Tannehill. Ryan Tannehill. Ryan Tannehill. Ryan Tannehill.

Just change Weeden with Tannehill and it pretty much sums it up.

Quit letting yourself get beat up so much Hoops its too soon after the game and everyone emotions are riding to high after the loss to expect much rational discussion at this point. On another note I am really glad Sherman is gone so we can tell what we have with Ryan T. Rationally as this is the first new offense he has had to learn since college you have to expect a certain amount of no tempo and it smells that Philbin is play calling to protect exposing his QB thus also contributing to the lack of offensive production also.

It does smell that way for sure...but it's philbins funeral if he doesn't at least fire all his bullets...but yes I agree it feels like he's protecting not only his qb but this new offense...

And I will say this...at some point if it keeps going this route you have to say it's the qb...I don't think we are there yet but the same deficiencies awareness wise more than anything seem to be showing up...

Oh no. I am heart broken. My weekly comedy relief is gone. What to do? What to do?

Just my thoughts on Tannehill

1. Tannehill is having balls batted at the line again. Anyone remember the game vs the texans, his 1st nfl game? Well that was 3 years ago and its happening again.

2. Tannehill got sacked 4 times again today and I have to say at least 3 of those were sacks were not the OLine's fault. Tannehill is getting more more time in the pocket this year but with the exception of the patriots game, we are getting the same sack count. The man doesnt move until he has a Dlineman on him and doesnt throw the ball away. He holds the ball way too long...this brings up 3...

3. For all I hear about tannehill being athletic, he does surprisingly little to have it said. He doesnt move until he has a Dlineman on him. Why doesnt he get out of the pocket a little like big ben and throw on the move? Is philbin telling him not to, or does he get tunnel vision back there. This plays into 4...

4. For someone that doesnt try to move until 8 seconds after the snap when the Dline is on him, he doesnt seem to realize that they are about to get to him. He has some of the worst pocket awareness I have ever seen. He doesnt feel whats going on until its too late...

5. He is inaccurate...This really should be the killer, this should get him sat tomorrow and have matt more in on sunday. Tannehill is bouncing balls off people, throwing them behind, and over throwing them...EVEN Henne had 1 great pass in his 1st starting season (the one to ginn to beat the jets), but in 2 seasons and 3 games, I have never seen the beautiful pass right on the money...Hes bad at short passes (he has no touch), hes bad at long passes, hes bad at timing passes...the only thing he does well is hit WRs coming back to him (heartlines money play) and people have been taking that away this year...

Despite playing in 35 pro games, he has not shown any improvement...

I want him to succeed because Im tired of the rebuilding and I dont see anyone to draft at the 7-15 position this year because we will win some pointless games and take ourselves out of contention for the #1 pick...now the question is, is moore better than him? well if moore was better then wouldnt he be starting over him? Ive also heard moore is not a practice player, and shines in the real games...I think that Philbin is is gone no matter what this year with anything less than the playoffs, and watching tannehill the past 2 games I cant say he is the man to take you tot he playoffs so if Im philbin and there is any thought that maybe moore can play at a higher level, I take it this week...We shall see...

The game is too fast for him.

Running a quicker tempo consistently with a QB who has shown that he is limited in what parts of the field he can attack, is begging for interceptions. Opposing DB's would start jumping routes on those predicatble reads like it was going out of style.

I'm going to bed wishing I didn't care as much as I do but I will say this before I go...I saw a better qb in the old system than I see now in this new one execution wise especially and I do think this is a more qb friendly system...they aren't asking him to do as much.maybe it just takes time...maybe he was maxed out in the old familiar system he's seen for all his college and first 2 years as a pro...I don't know at this point...I just know it's a real concern now...

First time I've ever thought maybe I have assumed too much when it comes to the natural progression I expected given so few college starts he had and how advanced in the old o some of the things he showed were...

I just know it better pick up

Not sure where this comes from...sounds like hot air though...tempo lets you dictate to the opposition...if he was spraying the ball into coverage then I'd be concerned about that but he doesn't nor has he ever as a pro...you have to take his strengths and play to them and decision making is a strength...if you get more sheer play volume you can live with a few mistakes more as far as placement etc...at this point it's pretty much the only choice they have...

Philbin needs to just let it go and live with the results...

Down 21-15 and the O went three and out. 2nd and 1 and the O punted b/c Tannehill took a sack. Unacceptable. Tannehill lost this game. Get the ball out! Dump it off, throw it at Lamars feet for a 4th and 1 attempt! Something! Just total lack of awareness, he's a smart kid with the books, but dumb as a rock on the field. Lucky for him he has millions in the bank and a hot wife, because a future as a franchise QB is not in his fate.

Ding ding ding!!

Even if he develops into a competent, slightly above average QB this will still be an issue, and it'll always be an issue. Its not fixable. "You can't fix stupid." The best case outlook on Tannehill is not good enough. Its time to see how the offense/team responds to Moore. Moore had a 100+ passer rating in preseason, and even in 2011 Moore had close to a 90 rating, which is all we need.

Tannehill doesn't just make a 'few mistakes' in regards to placement. He's consistent with it. That's why we get virtually no chunk yardage with him at QB. 5.8 yards per pass attempt, while leading the the league in pass attempts. Results are the bottom line, playboy.

Like I said, You run a quicker temp, you're begging for more mistakes...

This is so well put. I couldn't have said better. There is your answer Hoops on why we cannot run a fast tempo offense, because our QB has the football smarts of a brick.

It sucks too because we TOOK HIM #8 OVERALL in the draft, the lemon QB of the draft. Only the dolphins have that horrible of luck that we take a bum like this over Wilson, Foles, even Cousins and verdict still out on Osweiler. But as always, Miami managed to grab the poison apple.

Even if Philbin/Lazor know that the results would be horrific? And know that the football zombie brained Ryan Tannehill cannot run a fast tempo offense?
