Ryan Tannehill ranked #2 by PFF in week 2.

If you think the Patriots were running prevent defense in the second half, you know nothing about football, period. That's a line I don't usually use, but if you honestly watched that game and said "Oh, they're in Prevent defense" then you literally know absolutely nothing about football and don't understand what you're looking at. That's just the honest, unvarnished truth. They were crowding the line of scrimmage and playing very aggressively in the second half.

One thing I don't like about this site is a lack of accountability. NE wasn't in prevent defense. That's not why Miami came back. But will Dolphintodd acknowledge that? No. For such a terrible statement to be made, one should be forced to reconcile their warped mind.

Good news, anyone can go look at the film thread (thank you dnespins, for your service) and clearly see, immediately, that the New England Patriots continued to play very aggressive defense in the second half. They were looking to humiliate us, not slow us down.

Yes , he should cook meals for players as well , maybe even get in there and do a little run blocking after he hands the ball off.

If nobody is open , he should go out there and use his wr skills to run a route and simultaneously throw it to himself while not crossing the line of scrimmage . So many things this guy could do to help us win .

he should just do his job better before worrying about that stuff.

Its 2 weeks in a new offense. I think that's why Gase has been conservative. Guys clearly don't understand the plays yet. It will open up once they learn the offense

I don't think he's been conservative at all.

But you can't just go no huddle and launch the ball down field all the time either.

No but he can run for 1st downs, change plays at the line, extend plays by moving in the pocket, execute sneaks, throw past the sticks on 3rd down, and a 100 other little things that can get you over hump to help win close games. Fair or not when you are the 'franchise' QB more is expected of you and you have more opportunities/responsibly for scoring points.

i'd submit that he did all of those things (minus the horrible attempt at a QB sneak). that's 100% of the reason why we were only down one score with a minute left.

The Patriots baited us on the QB sneak. I don't blame our OL, our coaches, or our QB for that. Watch the play. The Patriots look like they're lollygagging or slow to line up and then they just crash on it. We got clowned on by Bill B.

I will say this, though. Ryan Tannehill needs to accept the fact that this team sucks in short yardage situations because we can't run the football at all, and be just go head first on those plays. He's gonna get hurt at some point with the insane shots he takes in the pocket. If he can survive those, I'm not sure 1-2 head first dives per game is going to kill him.

Turnovers and the defense's inability to make a stop kept our offense from being able to get something going in the first half. Can't do anything if you don't have the ball.

The offense got the ball in the first half and produced three-and-outs.

Yet again, feel like a broken record by now, down 21-0 before his 3rd pass. Using the word offense in your post was the correct word to use though...

One person can't do it all. Unfortunately it all falls on Tannehill anyway. He can't make receivers run the correct routes and actually get open. He can't run block. He can't take a hand off from himself and run through a nonexistent hole or make something out of nothing. He can't pass block for himself. He is far from perfect out there, but why try to make him win games all by himself? It's all on him at this point, and that's gotten us two close-but-no-cigar losses so far this season.

I agree it is the entire offense that slow. The receivers are not getting separation until later in the game. RT is a little inaccurate on the third down throw to Cameron, but that has to be a catch. Basically, someone needs to step up and make a play on one of the three first plays.

Can't agree with you here.....I think the play calling in the first half of the first two games was much more conservative than the 2nd half. Gase even admitted in his presser after Seattle that RT talked him into opening things up which led to that TD drive with late in the 4th quarter.

We aren't good enough to go toe to toe with the best teams in the league yet and have to take more risks on offense earlier to get some momentum. Oh....and we have no run game, which we have been trying unsuccessfully to establish in the first half of these first two games.

I bet it killed you to post this article.

My feelings about the unreliability and overall absurdity of PFF rankings at times is well known, I think. But with that said, PFF thinks our two best players are 17 and 93.

PFF is correct on both counts.

Hey come on.. don't ever underestimate the power of the remote; it was an unbiased "informed" opinion.

But you gotta believe if THill went down and Moore put up this 2nd half performance, our armchair GMs would be calling for him to start, right?
