If I recall correctly there was some concern on this board related to his hand size at the time that RT was drafted. Could this be contributing to his issue with fumbles? I've noticed that some of his fumbles occur with no actual contact with either the ball or his hand. Ultimately it would be optimal if he could learn how to feel the pressure coming and turtle up but he doesn't seem to have that skill set yet (compare with Brady yesterday where he almost always seems to senses pressure coming even if he can't see it). I don't see a glove as an answer but what other options are there?

He has a terrible sense of pressure which is ironic because if I was QB for the Fins I would expect it each play, especially on passing downs. He never seems to move within the pocket to buy that extra millisecond...ho hum coaching 101

Arm length.

I have it on good authority that is of the utmost importance.

I was questioning the drafting of Tannehill because of his small hands. He has only 9" hands which is small for an NFL QB.

It surely has nothing to do with the line sucks and 6 sacks in a half from a average defense.

Not attempting to analyze the cause of the sack, just trying to figure out why he fumbles so much even when neither the ball or his hand is hit during the sack.

I think the real issue is whether the fans have anything to do with him having small hands.

Yes he only has 9 inch hands some draft scouts wont touch a QB unless they have 10 inch hands. Culpepper & vick both have 9 inch hands and had ball control problems whole career

only way he holds onto that backside clean shot while scanning the field is if he's got stickem...just about any qb would fumble on that play given that impact...if they didn't they'd be damn lucky...

qb can't not trust the backside protection to pick up the edge rusher and stop looking down field looking at the rush...then it's curtains...nothing tanny could have done there...

mckinnie blew an assignment and we paid for it

Brady fumbled when he got hit from behind too.

Hmmmm...

Keep up guys, I know it's tough for you, but at least try!

So based on your response you do not see any correlation between number of fumbles ad hand size? Just a consequence of getting hit hard? Not arguing, just trying to understand.

Actually, I had the same thought. He fumbles wherever the hit comes from.

Hoops have you noticed RT has started dropping the ball around his waist when he moves in the pocket? I am seeing more frequently when RT moves in the pocket he is dropping the ball around his waist opposed to keeping it up.
