S Louis Delmas visited Dolphins today

Well Delmas had 2 sacks and 3 interceptions last season(16 games)
and Clemons has 1.5 sacks and 4 interceptions in 5 years(72 games)

In the last five years Delmas has only played 65 games due to injury and has 6 interceptions and 5 sacks. Not a huge difference in production, but Delmas does give up the big play where Clemons does not. I am fine with upgrading Clemons, but not sure Delmas is an upgrade.

Maybe he wants to come to Miami so he can have a pet alligator again...LOL

I'd prefer to resign Chris Clemons. Solid player we can resign at a value price. And he's able to play 16 games consistently.

delmas does make big plays compared to clemons, but clemons is consistent. can we have both? lol

Who cares what CK says. Not that I know or care what his role is with the Dolphins, all I remember is him arguing till the death with me that Vernon was basically low life trash as an NFL player. Until he admits he was completely wrong, his anaylisis cannot be trusted. Along the lines of bush league
Tweets with insight on Delmas from a Detroit Lions reporter...

@ckparrot all-or-nothing aggressive, positionally irresponsible playmaker with zero coverage instincts. Great leader, strong vs. set runs.

@ckparrot Schwartz used both he & Quin as safety, not really strong or free. Can't practice, knees are major issue

@mj1987us26 @ckparrot he's bone on bone in his knees. Real gamer but it's hurt his game. Lions didn't really use strong/free, just safeties

This. Sign and start Delmas with Clemons as back-up, in a perfect world. Delmas is a playmaker. Clemons is somewhat solid.

Agreed. Not only that but the guy always looks to dog on the team and chance he gets.

You don't want both safety's to be play makes. It sounds stupid but true. You don't want both guys to be going for the big play. You need the play it safe guy and you need the make the big play guy to balance out.

Clemons is your play it safe, consistent, make all the right plays type safety. I feel having both guys in the back always trying to cheat plays and go for the pick 6 leads to some blown plays and quick touchdowns.

The moment I saw he was cut I was excited at the possibility. When healthy, he's an upgrade to Clemons. That's really the only red flag and at this point, he's just trying to get a nice contract and find a place where he can start. Pairing him with jones is a huge win IMO.

Some -> don't admit being wrong ever - ever - oh they have "inside sources" to don't cha know

Meh Delmas isn't an upgrade over what we have.

At least between Delmas and Clemons, I would keep Clemons. Delmas reportedly couldn't even practice regularly because of his shot knees. Clemons lacks playmaking ability but he is steady and consistent.

Finding elite safeties is really tough. Clemons is not elite but switching him out is risky. You could end up with someone much worse. Recall that Jason Allen was a high pick at the position and was horrible despite supposedly having great physical skills.

Bingo, Clemons allows Jones to be aggressive. The problem last year was Jones had to play down in the box more to support the run. Two years ago Clemons and Jones were the best safety tandom in the NFL.

Maybe you didn't read my description of the tweets?

You do know that's not CK tweeting. That is the Lions reporter tweeting TO ck with info. So one really wouldn't have to care what CK thinks in order to get info from these tweets.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it was the opposite. Jones was at his best when he was used freely, able to move around in the box, whereas this past year he was forced into a lot of two-deep safety sets. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what I saw.
