saban can win without a qb!

You are right! We do not need a superstar QB. And if it is this close of a race at that position then IMO it doesn't matter who starts because the other guy can back them up easily. If we are able to run the ball more then we did in 2002 and in 2003 and our defense can gel good enough to be one of the top fifteen defenses we are looking at a .500 + season. We didn't have a great O-Line in 2003 but still got the job done with a 10-6 record. Who was our QB? However, our defense was phenomenal. I recall the 9-6 win against the Ravens!

he has done it everywhere he has been and he will do it here in 2005!he gameplans so good and will out coach every coach in the nfl on gameday unlike wanny who got owned by just about everyone.so the qb wont determine where the fins go this season everyother position on the team will.

Without doubt, does anyone really think Fiedler had such a good winning % because he was that good? Miami has the talent (Even though some of the players are getting up there), and now with better coaching, Miami should be able to start growing into a very mentally tough team to beat, and well as physically.

Good point! Brad Johnson won a Super Bowl, for pete's sake!

You don't need a great QB to get a Superbowl win. All you need is a QB who won't LOSE the game for you.

That was the issue I had with Fiedler. He'd win some games and he'd lose some. Being consistantly inconsistant was always his strong suit.

you can win without a QB if you have a very good defense and a good running game.

your O-Line has lots of gaps, but wont be to bad this season.

but your passing defense is going to be really bad. and will cost you in close games.

I wholeheartedly disagree. That same line of thinking is what had us hold onto Fiedler for so long. What the Ravens did has everyone thinking that. You need a difference maker at QB. Not a superstar, I agree, but a difference maker. A guy who can make plays. A caretaker will get you nowhere.

Maybe, maybe not, don't forget that Madison is still a quality corner, Daniels is looking like at worse could be solid, Howard is finally coming on, and I have a feeling we will get another CB before it is all over.

Safety is a concern but with players like Lance Schulters, Yeremiah Bell, Trevares Tillman, and T-buck. Add to that more blitzing, and pressure to the QB then last year (Anything is better then last year, I admit) we will not be as bad against the pass as some think.
