I'm happy with the Daniels pick......epsecially the way things have played out with Poole gettign injured.

but I think either Orton in the 4th or McPhearson in the 5th would have been good values. I just have a lot more faith in Orton to succeed than McPhearson........at least had what it took to make it through college and succeed.

I don't know, Orton looks like somebody who will get killed in the NFL to me, he has shoulders that look like a girls.

I remember watching him compete at the QB comp. with Rodgers, he couldn't get one pass 50 yards downfield inside a 10 yard wide zone. In the accuracy comp. he couldn't hit a moving target, his passes hit the dirt well short.

Orton's no better than Rosenfels. Why take a QB in the 4th when you already have one who was drafted in the 4th? Had we drafted Orton we'd be sitting here awaiting a great battle for the 3rd QB spot while we were wondering who would make up for the loss of Will Poole. Not real smart.

Orton had a great year....the reason why he was picked so late was because he got injured.

your kidding right? Orton was benched in his senior season because he wasn't producing. Good qbs don't get benched, at least not in their senior season. He was anything but great

Yes, but also has a chance of being a big bust. I think he'll be decent, but it's all speculation. Just like I'm glad we didn't wasted a pick on Orton, because I speculate he WILL be the biggest bust of this draft.

How can u be the biggest bust when youre a 4th round pick? I dont think he's going to be good, but not too many others did, thats why he was a 4th rounder. You have to be a top pick to be the biggest bust of the draft.

Orton will be a bust, I'm really glad we didn't do that.

I did want to take a shot at Mcpherson since we didn't get Alex Smith or Aaron Rodgers but I question whether McPherson has what it takes upstairs.

Agreed but with his upside I would have loved to trade up a few spots to grab him. I knew NO was gonna take him. He would be a perfect player to groom and take over for Brooks.

he didn't get benched. he was playing great until he got hurt vs northwestern. he had a hip pointer, and if anybody on here has had a hip pointer, you know that it's next to impossible to function at all, let alone throw a football. that put him on the shelf for two weeks, but he came off the bench and brought purdue back vs osu, and was solid the rest of the season. he completed over 60% of his passes and threw for 31 tds vs 6 ints. i don't know what you call that, but i call it a great season.
