Saban is playing the media.

Notice Saban isn't answering questions about who the starting QB will be next year. Notice Saban isn't answering questions about JT's future with the team. Notice Saban isn't talking about our offensive scheme. Notice Saban isn't talking about our defensive scheme. All he's talking about these days is two players that aren't even on the team, and of this he'll answer all questions. To you guys that don't see this......slowly pull away from Ricky and Boston's jock straps now please.

Saban is answering the questions he's being asked -in his 'round about sort of way. The questions that are being thrown at him have been about JT and RW lately. Not about the QB situation and what D we'll run. Noone knows for sure what is going on about anything. But assuming everything Saban is saying is another "smokescreen" is stretching a little much. And like I said, there is way more than one source this info is coming from. BUt we'll find out.

Hmmm... No explanation, huh? No reason behind why he would do this, what he could gain?

He's just doing it cuz he can, right?

Well Megatron, I believe that you saying that Saban is playing the media is ALSO a smoke screen. I believe that YOUR belief that Saban's willingness to talk to Ricky and David Boston is a smoke screen, is in fact, a SMOKE SCREEN.

I think that you're just saying that. I don't think that you actually believe it. And I ALSO believe that you're posting these thoughts as a way to kind of... I don't know... throw us readers a bone or something.

Please, don't ask me to explain WHY I believe this about you or WHAT led me to reach this conclusion.

It's enough that you know that I know that what you say you know is just for show, y'know.

If you want to avoid postings like this in the future, next time you write up a posting make sure to include a point. And backing up your opinions with examples, anectdotes, links and videos doesn't hurt either.

Otherwise we'd all spend all day posting "Vanilla is Osama's favorite flavor" and declaring it as fact.

Anyway... food for thought.
Try reading the thread before posting. And how dumb must a person be to not realise that the explanation for why Saban would be doing this is to keep the media away from his players, and protect his plays and formations. Last year you had the media all over our camp, hanging off every coaching desicion like a angry dog on the postman. Interviews about who Zach would rather have as the starter at QB, stuff like that. This went on for years around here, christ you even have JT calling in to a radio show to say we don't suck. This was the circus that Dave Wanndstedt's tenure here. Sure Saban will say he'd talk to Ricky and Boston about coming back, why not. Hey maybe they'd even produce or could get us some trade value. But he's talking about players that are not in his current lockerrom. That's the key. The media need a Dolphins story so Saban answers questions about Ricky. He's choosing who to talk about not vice-versa like Wanny. Frankly I love this, and the media's happy because they got some print on the Dolphins and they know Dolfans will eat up anything Ricky related.

You don't know that he isn't being asked questions about the teams player situations or formations for this season. And the "sources" that are spewing this Ricky nonsense are the same guys Saban gave the heave-ho out of the lockerroom and minicamps.

Also see Bill Bellichick's candor with the media, he knows they are not his friend. He hasn't told them the truth on anything in years and it's helped him win three Superbowls. Ever hear of much dirt out of his lockerroom?? Remember when Lawyer Milloy was cut for cap reasons and how the media was screaming how it would tear apart his lockerroom. He just stopped talking to them and proceeded to coach his team to the Superbowl.

All this Boston talk and Ricky talk is a smoke screen. Saban's playing the media by throwing them a bone and deflecting the media eye off his current players.

I agree and why shouldn't he? Ricky and Boston are people with personality problems. They have drawn the Ire of the media and fans so, let them continue to be the targets of opportunity. Meanwhile, the real team can focus on getting good at what they do (play football). Good insight.

Exactly. half of the younger fans on this board will jump all over Ricky returning, and not look between the lines on what Saban's intentions would be for his return.

For some strang reason .I think Saban is really playing the Media.
