Saban & Mcmicheal

I think it's best to wait and see what happens -- are charges even filed, does the case make it to trial, and is he found guilty. At that point, I think it's reasonable to discuss the team's reaction. Until then, it's merely speculation. While I can respect the opinion of people on here who want to make an example of someone they feel is demonstrating bad character, let's wait until the man is guilty first.

Then, you can throw the book at him all you want.

Also remember that eyewitness testimony is often notoriously inaccurate. People see what they want to see and fill in details to match that scenario.

Calling for cuts, suspensions, and other team/league punishments on what is currently a legal and personal matter is premature.

I could honestly not give a crap if he spent his free time robbing 7/11s at gunpoint. What matters to me is that he's a really good player that means a whole lot to this offense. Also, remember the camp footage where he put the journalist in his place, when asked if he was going to hold out for a new contract?

I could understand it if he kicked her ***, but my god, he hit her with a piece of cardboard and everyone wants to cut him? Keep him, he's a good player and a leader.

Thats how i see it

i guess it just bugs me for the prestige of this team and the franchise. General football fans are going to start saying things like

"The ravens have a murderer for a Linebacker, the Raiders have a Pothead for a receiver, and miami has a nutjob RB and a wife-beating TE"

He is not a wife beater...and you calling him a wife beater is embarrassing...

Real wife beaters kick the crap out of their Hoe's....
i agree being hit with a piece of cardboard isnt really beating!

No way Saban suspends him for even one game. Not when he's trying to get his offense to gel. I forecast a larger than expected fine though. Probably 20K. Looks like Randy'll have to wait until next year for that big contract. UNLESS, Saban uses this whole thing as a bargaining tool to get Randy to agree to a lesser contract.

Honestly, the guy can play...but I don't want him on the team.

It's not right, what he's done. Ideally, I'd say cut him, but the team needs value out of him...and as another team would just sign him anyway, getting cut wouldn't be that big of a punishment to him. So a trade is the best option. And with his salary and productivity, several teams would be interested.

But I think it's definitely time a message be sent...why should these overpaid children be allowed to flout the laws of American society?

What if he points a gun at your mother? Would he still be your favorite TE?

I agree that nothing should be done until charges are filed and he is found guilty, but give me a break.

Trashing McMichael at this point is ridiculous. None of you know what happened. If the wife says it was an accident who are you to call her a liar. This is the problem with this society. It feels it has the right to get involved with other people's business. Let the situation play out and when the facts come in then make your comments. At this stage it's just juvenille

Agreed!!!

if doug jolley nets a 1st we can get 2 1st rounder for randy
if i remember right, that trade for jolley wasnt just for a 1st rounder.

it was to move up ~5 or so spots. not a flat out 1st rounder.

but i may be mistaken.

just because she says it was a accident. doenst mean that it was. thats the nature of domestice violence.

but even if the charges are dropped, and hes not suspended or anything. every time i see him on tv, i will remember this. and so will alot of other people.

Who cares what you remember?

Are you a Dolphins season ticket holder?

This is going to be very interesting how this plays out. IF he gets off (from the law) Saban probably does not have much ground to discipline him. However, if he takes a plea bargain... Saban will probably make an example out of him. At least I think he probably should to show this is his team.

I'm dissapointed in Randy...I was close to picking up his jersey from the pro shop...but looks like I'll be putting my money towards a player with some sense and integrity...guy's a heck of a player, it's just a shame he's in the media for all the wrong reasons.

Not 5 spots, it was less tha 20 spots so we basically switched our late 1st rd pick w/ their mid 2nd rd pick and still got the 2 players we were targeting and got a pass catching TE.
