Saban Places Blame On Offensive Line

Absolutely correct, have a look at how the game is called(plays) when the 2nd stringers are subbed in.

Great point and observations. Sometimes we as fans only see results. Preseason is for evaluation first, winning 2nd.
 
I don't think Houck's influence will show up until mid-season. It's painful to watch right now - let's just hope our QB's don't get killed before then (maybe that's why he's looking at Couch...we need a crash test dummie!!!)

All of these guys have been able to move people out of the way. McKinney ALWAYS gets pushed into our backfield.

It doesnt matter what the problem is when people insist that the problem is that Feeley should be starting. The touchy feeley's want to rule. I say let them have there wish and watch what unfolds.

No way! Feeley hasn't done anything to earn the #1 spot.


Here are the preseason stats so far:

G. Frerotte is 24 for 49, 281yds and 1TD, 0 ints. and 73.6 rating

A. Feeley is 26 for 40, 190yds and 0 TD,1 ints. and 65.6 rating

**As you can see, Frerotte has two fewer completed passes than Feeley, but has almost 100 yards more passing than Feeley. Feeley likes to throw two yard outs, six yard hooks and his ever popular dump offs to the RB. Frerotte takes more chances down the field, and from his passing yard output in comparison to Feeley, it's evident that it paid off some.

Plus, if you look at the last possession of the first half when Feeley had to take control and get us in field goal position. You can see that Feeley is not ready to take control of this team. Feeley showed poor managemnt of the the ball and clock, that alone will be the "nail in the coffin" when Saban names the starting QB for the regular season.

That is what Houck came in for. Look up his stats and you will know that he has done more with less!

It is true that Feeley did alot more short plays. The coaches probably wanted him to work on the short game. I have seen some TC observations saying he needs to work on his touch on the short ball. However, they say his long ball is better then Frerotte which is what Frerotte is probably working on.
 
Give me three changes to the starting lineup vs. Tampa Bay:

LWR: David Boston
RWR: Chris Chambers
(Booker gets the slot)

LT: Vernon Carey
LG: Jeno James
C: Rex Hadnot
RG: Frank Middleton
RT: Stockar McDougle

QB: A.J. Feeley
RB: Ronnie or Ricky (whichever)

Boston deserves a shot to start and he and Chambers can stretch the field underneath for McMichaels and Booker.

Feeley should have a decent o-line to practice with all week to see what he can do for nearly a half with the starters.

Rex Hadnot is more valuable right now as a Center and although Middleton might not be quite in the best football condition yet, I can't see how anyone currently on the roster would give us a better chance to win.
 
I'm still trying to figure out how some fans think that Houck can come in and fix a Oline in the blink of an eye.

Preseason is about evaluation, not about winning. Eight fumbles? So. I don't care if it was 80 fumbles. As long as they learn, educate, and then resolve the issue.
