Saban Pleased With First Game

We only had one certain secondary starter, start the game and that was Madison. I'd like to see how the four who will be the opening day starters will do before getting all panicy about the secondary. Based on who is on the roster now, we'll more likely open with Madison, Daniels, Jones and Schulters. Jones hardly played last night and Schulters is still getting comfortable in the defense. Daniels looked pretty good in the time he was out there. It will be nice to see those four out there together.
 
I have said it until i'm blue in the face, the Bucs first year with Jon Gruden was unwatchable during the preseason and the first half of the season. They eventually grasped the offense and rolled to a super bowl, will we do that, no, but, it just goes to show, it takes more than some mini-camps and three to four weeks of training camp to completely install and successfully execute a new, much less complicated system like our defense.. other than all the blitzes, which is correctable, the offense wasn't all that bad.. we did score 17 points with our new offense and had glimpses of big plays here and there.. that's encouraging.. they just need more time together putting in the new offense and defense..
 
Overall not bad, main areas of concern as mentioned above with the CB's. Howard needs another gear. Also, no good running attack or run blocking for that matter. Seemed like our Rbs were getting pounded right at the line of scrimmage.
 
17-10 fins ahead when the vets started to leave.overall good game.plus we scored 24 points hello how many times did we score over 24 last season?
