Saban Wants Boo'ing to Stop

I'm really surprised that Saban would even mention this... definitely concerns me. But all of this hearsay to me because I haven't heard the Press Conference yet... I have to hear it myself before I give you my personal feelings on the matter.

Our QBs suck, and fans are gonna let em know that they suck. We're all tired of having such poor QB play? How long has it been since we had a QB worth a damn? 99' Oh yeah, Dan. Since Marino retired we've freakin sucked at QB. This problem should have been taken care of but instead our HC and FO decide to ignore the problem. 6 years of this ****. I know i'm tired of it. Maybe if the fans "boo" they'll get the message that we want a QB drafted in the first round, instead of picking up other teams trash every year.

I just watched the PC and it's apparent that once again certain people here are blowing things out of proportion. Somebody asked Saban about his thoughts on the booing, he said it's not something he encourages but at the same time understands that in a competive game like this fans get that way and he's not gonna chastise them for it. He also said he understands that there's a responsibilty for the coaches and players to play well enough that things like that don't happen. Seriously, stop spinning things to create controversy. It gets old.

:YEAHTHAT:

He responded to a question and said he didn't like booing but knew why fans did it. and that it dies serve a purpose ut sometimes does more damage then good. Nick took the perfectapproach to the booing, its AJ we need to get on board

I think if it were not for last year, they would not be booing already. But I can see why Saban wants a new atmosphere and a little patience. It's not like his team has sucked for two years, but the fans don't see that. They feel that they have endured enough and at least want some excitement. So far there just hasn't been much. It can all turn around soon though. Even we here on the forums get frustrated when things are not working during games and we don't boo online, but we make some pretty crabby comments about our team. It's just frustration. Saban isn't really recognizing what we've been through the last 12 months, after years of a solid team on the field and growing used to it.

that is very well said and i will add this if the fans dont boo then espn will trash the dolphin fans for not being supportive. nick has never been to a ou game after a qb throws a int , heck when he whiped ou in the nc game a 2 yrs back ou fans were screaming for white to be benched and replaced with a qb that hadnt played a game yet.

Booing is pointless, the fact that you are trying to express your frusteration the our QB sucks is pointless, I'm pretty sure Saban already knows that. The effect of booing that happens this year is going to bring back the same feelings and metality towards the team that was expressed last year.

I'm not by any means saying that you should cheer when the QB or some other player makes a stupid mistake, I'm saying that booing does nothing but hurt the mentality of the team. Wether you think they should be mentally strong or not.

Look what Booing Fiedler did, we traded a 2nd round pick for a Bum to get the booing to stop.

sorry to disappoint, I have a short fuse for stupidity after being so abused these last few years.

The intention wasnt to blow things out of proportion. The way he answered the question would certainly lead to the assumption that he didnt like the boo'ing. You are just reading into the title of the thread too much, relax. I guarantee you that the way he answered the question could certainly lead to an article in one of the papers tommorow about how saban discourages the booing. Thats how most stories in sports are started. A reporter asks a question and gets an answer and writes about it. If you think its blowing things out of proportion then thats fine. The purpose of the thread was to get away from the stupid qb posts and talk about something else. If you don't think Saban really cares much about the boo'ing then say that...no need to accuse me of spinning things a different way.

How do you think he should have answered the question? He didn't even say he wanted the booing to stop so I don't know where you're getting that from. I honestly don't know how you expected him to answer the question.

"Well, when you have players playing as horrible as they were last night, people are going to boo. I think it's a great way to encourage the players to play better." :shakeno:

If he had some balls he wouldve said that AJ played awful and deserved to get boo'd...thats how I wouldve answered it. :)

As soon as Saban puts a winner on the field, the boos will stop.I have to be honest, with all thats going on with this team, that should be the least of Saban's worries.

I can't really say I disagree about the booing, but I think Saban answered the question any other coach in the NFL would have answered.

You are probably right about that.
