Saban Wants Boo'ing to Stop

I think if it were not for last year, they would not be booing already. But I can see why Saban wants a new atmosphere and a little patience. It's not like his team has sucked for two years, but the fans don't see that. They feel that they have endured enough and at least want some excitement. So far there just hasn't been much. It can all turn around soon though. Even we here on the forums get frustrated when things are not working during games and we don't boo online, but we make some pretty crabby comments about our team. It's just frustration. Saban isn't really recognizing what we've been through the last 12 months, after years of a solid team on the field and growing used to it.

Well put dolphan north,
although I prepared a post that likely would of elicited some heat, i think yours has provided some well balanced, and "timely" perspective.

Booing is a legitimate way for fans to express to their team -- players, coaches, and management -- that what is being put on the field is unacceptable and that they need to get better. Heckling crosses the line.

One of the best utilizations of the "boo" in history is at the OrangeBowl halftime show last year. My god that was great...

I remember when Fiedler got booed.

In the interview he basically said " If I was playing better they wouldn't be booing me"

It's toobad there aren't more people on the team that realize there is a reason they are booing. Fiedler atleast realized the fans pay to see this game and have a right to express their emotions. The fans don't need to stop booing the Phins need to make them stop with their play.

Fans pay all that money to watch their team and they should be able to do whatever they want....if the team is playing like crap then you have to expect some booing Nick. We are tired of mediocrity and want a SB win.

In his press conference Saban pretty much asked the fans to stop boo'ing. Do you think they will get the message? personally I think you have the right to boo to express your frustration, but I think most people are doing it because they are tired of having bad qb's here and want to let the coaches and players know it. However, if saban asks for it to stop maybe people will listen.

I want those annoying bills that come in every month to stop too.
:D

I don't think what Saban is asking is unreasonable, at least not for the first few weeks. Give this new team, regime, & scheme a month to get going before killing players' moral with boos.

lol were you there?

I saw a lot more of ppl there on the rebroadcast of the game on the NFL Network!

I also believe it was officially a sell out. If you are going to bash them you might as well make it a bash based on the real facts.

The fact is no one was sitting in the seats. Check that out on the rebroadcast sonny...

FYI, Saban said the same that when he arrived at LSU. His basic arguement for saying this was that he was watching the same game as the fans and he easily can see dumb and/or poor play. And he will try to correct it. But booing only helps the opposition. Why give your opponents an advantage on your home field. The fans booing is telling him nothing he does not already know! Just something to think about. However, I won't deny it's your right to boo, cheer or sleep during the game if you paid for your ticket.
