Saban Wants Boo'ing to Stop

Maybe you should start acting like one at the games then.

I do, I express my dipleasure with the stupidity almost every time. You may conduct yourself in any manner you chose, just don't push YOUR perceptions off on me. I have been a REAL fan since before this team had a name and significantly longer than you have been alive. I do not bring this up to belittle you because you are certainly a good fan I am sure. I bring it up to give you some reference to my devotion. It has been unwavering. I did not boo the very first play of the game when we started with an offside but by the time we had four stupid penalties I was hot. These millionares only have to remember a single digit number usually less than three for what? 20 seconds. If all their coaching and concentration does not help them to remember a single digit number for twenty seconds then maybe my boo's will. As to Feeley throwing another pick for six, I have had my fill of it. I was hopeing he would break down and cry. Friggen buthole, we should put a shocker collar on him and when he throws one for six the wrong way shock him into the fetal position in front of everyone. Maybe he would acually learn something then.

A question for those who disagree with this action. Do you think that I, as a lifetime Miami Dolphin fan, wants to boo my team?

:goof: I could suggest that if you found that conduct acceptable then perhaps you may need to evauluate your devotion level. Being unable to make the tough call...or boo. Tough love fellow fan, tougfh love.:goof:

Saban's request is based on selflessness, mental toughness, and teamwork. However, I know that is way too much to ask for some fans who had a bit too much to drink and are a bit too focused on their own feelings. Personally, I have no respect for fans who will boo their own team during the game (regardless of whose stadium we are in). They have at that point switched sides and offered real support to the other team.

COACH SABAN:

...As competitors, we have to overcome adversity. We never want to send the message to the other team with our fans that our fans are disappointed in our team because that helps the other teams think that they're getting the best of our fans and we never want them to think that.

I'd like to ask the fans to do the same thing we ask the players to do and that means being selfless in how they approach supporting the team at the game in terms of the enthusiasm and the difficulty they create for the other team. If the fans do that, it will certainly be an advantage, and it will help us work together as a team to be a success...

God this whole thread is packed with stupidity and ignorance. If the original poster hadn't blatently misconstrued what Saban actually said, then you'd all be praising him for what his comments really are... completely rational and reasonable, and an intelligent view on the subject.

Completely agree!!!! Good job!

I pay money..I'll boo all I want...Saban can kiss my azz on this one. Put a decent product on the field and he'll get cheers not jeers!!

I'm not booing the team...I'm booing something I'm pissed about...could be a decision, a call, or a player's performance...just the same as I cheer about something I like.

im on the side of not booing my team on this one, you people cant tell me im not a "true fan" becasue i wont boo my squad. every year i sat in foxboro then gillette stadium, and waved my fins flag, got pelted with snowballs and beer, and harrassed all game long by whole sections. even when we choked against them, which became a routine thing, i wouldnt bo them, and i certainly wont at home games either

If your team plays like ****, you let them know...don't coddle them. It's the NFL, it's put up or shut-up. People pay a lot of money to watch their team, so they have every right to boo the **** out of them if they are making stupid mistakes and losing

again though I have to make my point known,it's not the players fault if the chemistry and or the team lacks talent or depth. If we had a team full of pro bowlers different story. And again first yr head coach straight out of college "real fans" will give him time to show us what he is capable of,for gods sake you dont boo your team in preseason games!!!If that was the case look at Indy they sucked in preseason, their fans werent booing them.Fans have to be realistic.Yes you pay good money to see your team play, but not every team is going to win all the time.If your paying to see a team win all the time then Buffalo and Miami may not be the teams you want to be rueting for.

I would never boo my team personally. Whenever the phins make a halfass play the boo's start coming down. No one is forcing you to come watch the game, you aren't forced to "pay their salaries". When Ricky retired last year he basically said "Who cares about the fans". Can you really blame him? If Ricky had a bad year he knew they would turn on him instead of supporting him. I'm sure that's how every dolphin player feels. they would rather have the people who boo them not come to the game, and not follow them at all. A fan that isn't supporting them is a fan they dont need.

Personaly, I get pissed when fans boo their own team. Sure, if Ferotte throws a pick for six, you can scream and curse the day he was born; but you do not boo the man just for taking the field like some of our fans have been doing

You and I pay Saban's and the players contracts by buying tickets, jerseys, hats, etc. We have the right to do whatever we want (within reason). Saban needs to grow some thicker skin if he thinks this is the worst thing that will happen to him in Miami or else he won't make it.

You won't catch me cheering awful play but I guess thats what Saban wants.

he will get booed for making a dumb mistake.

he deserves to get booed.

if the team plays like crap, the fans who pay a lot of money ahve a right to express their disapproval.
