Dull though it is agreeing with the majority...
[bold]A[/bold] for sure. Saban schooled Nolan in how to create a market for trading up to your pick. Having heard all the proposals he decided Brown was a better deal. Have to respect that. When it come down to the potential he has for versatility and variety in the offense I'm with that. You take him out on 3rd down and bring in Gordon on 3rd and 1 and the defense knows it's a run up the gut, so you play-fake and TD from your own 40. The fake potential alone, phenomenal.
We knew D would be a focus because it was felt that the offense had good potential with the right coaching by Saban when he arrived and we have a real good pick, almost Poole-esque, with Crowder. Roth adds some more strength at our strongest position and makes Taylor, sadly, possibly next years Surtain for probably greater return (assuming the pieces are in place to make a 3-4 the base defense next term).
The CB we've picked looks to be servicable. So I can see no errors here barring unforseen problems and injuries.
Would I have done differently? Maybe, but there are as many permutations as the lottery and more than one could be right. Go Saban, go Fins!
