Here's a conspiracy theory for you:
The Chargers just placed SS Bob Sanders on injured reserve. He played fully in the first two games this year but didn't play in the Chiefs game. Steve Gregory replaced him, and he's just not very good.
Yeremiah Bell is mysteriously absent from Miami practices, excused by the front office for 'personal reasons'. Those same 'personal reasons' were given when the Dolphins held Vernon Carey out of practice while they put the screws to him on his contract and told him he can either move to right guard and take a pay cut, or be cut from the roster.
Could it be that the Dolphins are in negotiations with the Chargers over Yeremiah Bell, who would occupy Bob Sanders' position? If that were the case, I could see the Dolphins not wanting to execute the trade until after this weekend's game between the two teams. However, when you're in negotiations to deal a player, it is COMMON practice in the NFL that you don't play him or practice him anymore so as to avoid injury.
It seems to me like Yeremiah Bell is the one who blabbed about Jason Taylor's locker room speeches where he scolded the team on their practice habits and all that. I don't think he did it maliciously but he had direct quotes in the papers about it. He's old but still playing solid football, more solid than Steven Gregory anyway, and everyone keeps wanting to see what Reshad Jones may have for us at Strong Safety. If Chris Clemons is returning to health at Free Safety, perhaps it's time to see what the young ones can do. We're 0-3 (all three losses in conference) and three games behind the Bills, two games behind the Jets and Patriots. The playoffs are out of the question.
Bell for Sanders?
Bell is a solid starter for a guy that can't play a whole season...makes sense to me :tubes:
