Saints Shopping Darren Sproles

No thanks to Sproles. We do not have enough draft picks. He might be released anyways. Just be patient.

Dude will be 31 by next season.......and a RB at that. I'm not interested in trading a 3rd for him. I think him and Miller are similar backs, we just don't use Miller the same. I feel like Sproles benefited from the team around him, his coaches and the scheme they ran with. I honestly think Miller will have a good season with a better line and a better OC designing plays for him. Besides we need a big guy.

There will be plenty of FAs and solid RBs in the draft, no need to trade picks for Sproles.

Interesting idea. Would we use a 3rd round pick on a running back this year? If so, then why not? We actually have had pretty good luck picking up running backs from the Saints.

Sproles will be 31yr old RB. I'd rather have a 22yr old.......just like my women

Pieree Thomas would be a much better trade. Hell I would trade Miller straight up.
Trade Danial Thomas and a 5th of they take it

Blount would be that guy

Blount impressed the heck out of me in the playoffs for NE, but then ran up against a wall with Denver. They easily neutralized him. So he's limited. I still wouldn't mind him on the roster, but you need an all-around, shifty, strong back with great vision and the ability to break tackles.

they may have overused him at that point and when you are so good for weeks in a row, teams tend to focus on shutting that down. BB losing his touch a little IMO.

He's not losing his touch, they just don't have enough weapons. And I do think that Blount running straight ahead, basically barreling over the defense is good mostly for short yardage, and the big yards he got before is only because everything else was clicking on the offense and defenses ignored him for the most part. This is not a speedy or shifty player, so once you advertise he's your back, you're not going to get too much chunk yardage.

btw put me in the yes column for sproles.

and HERE lies the problem with this team.

finding ways to NOT bring in REAL talent has been the dolphins gm's m/o for many years now. sproles is a LEGIT rb, can catch like a wr and doesnt need an all world o-line to get yards unlike the two rb's we have now. the guys size shouldnt be any issue at this point with ANYONE as he has proven those nay sayers wrong for many years now about his size.

i dont want to pay him!! i dont want to trade for him!! these are the two thoughts i hear EVERY TIME a talented player is available. and we havnt had a dynamic big play return guy in many, many years and this team avoids that like a plague in the draft and f/a. we need to find a spot for a BONAFIDE, REAL DEAL return man and if he has other skills, like sproles does, that much better!!

big play talent is what this team lacks [outside of wallace] and we need them to win. sproles can return, run, block and catch anything thrown to him, just want you want in a wco.

If you want Sproles there are about 4 guys you can draft and get the same guy.

MUDDER: are you in fact JEFF IRELAND? again, this teams gm's have followed this mentality for years to their detriment. THERE ARE NOT 4 GUYS IN THE DRAFT, ANY DRAFT THAT ARE THE EQUAL OF DARREN SPROLES! that is so off base its rediculous. not only sproles return skills but the other things he brings to the table, running and blocking and catching. yeah, there are always college return guys. most cant make it past an nfl wedge and they are gone within a year or two. the darren sproles, deven hesters do not come around often and are not in every draft. especially FOUR of them!!

and if there were four guys in every draft that you can get a sproles caliber player, EVERYONE WOULD HAVE ONE BY NOW!!!

i hope hickey has the same mentality as his gm buddy in tampa as they knew the value of real talent and were not afraid to get them, at ANY position! if so, we can expect the talent level to go up and a guy like sproles can be a legit f/a target for hickey. they always had dynamic return guys in tampa and you can bet hickey sees the void here. our guy flashes, but isnt a scary fast and shifty, take it to the house at anytime player like sproles. and sproles gets more time on the field with his running and catching also and that is more value than the guy we have!!

we have passed on sproles twice in the last 5 years or so and everytime we have passed he has paid dividens to the team that does sign him. and he has burned us every time, with every team he has been on. ITS TIME TO GET A BIG TIME RETURN GUY!!!

Would be a great addition, but not worth a 3rd. This draft has some good value in the later rds. Maybe send them a player for player since they need 3-4 Def help, send them Wheeler LMFAO

Bishop Sankey in the 3rd? Carlos Hyde? There are a few good RB prospects in the draft. We need more picks.

I am suspicious of Sproles. He'll be 31 the next time he plays a game and his style is most hurt by age than a big back is. It looks like the Saints have seen him slow down already and don't want a non-contributor on their roster.
