Salguero: Disturbing details emerge regarding owner Stephen Ross

peterson at the game. thats who ross is listening to. ross also listening to ireland. he is and should be working with multiple opinions and thoughts to gather the best information.

i dont think ross knows who he wants as HC right now cus he will have to find a GM and Peterson is not a set in stone deal. peterson may just be helping his buddy out right now.

I think ross should move out of the miami market. no way you win over these fans. you move out, you have a fresh fanbase with a better economy and attitude and go from there.

i actually think this is good news. i think it is horrible and snake-like to toss sprano under the bus. but i feel like ireland did not go crazy spending, b/c as i suspected, he is safe.

i beleive this is GOOD b/c despite everyone whining on this board b/c we are stinging with an 0-3 start - ireland has really uncovered some gems and has quietly built a team that is comprised of some worthy talent. He did not want to over pay for orton, b/c orton is not the future. He is saving his money and leverage to make a bigger splash with the draft this year.

ross has already said he thinks continuity is good for a football team. Everyone is saying Ross wants a name to sell tickets - well i also think ross wants to win to sell tickets - i think ross knows we have some peices in place and he is not patient. he does not want to sit around for 3 years while some new guy like cowher re-builds. he went after harbaugh last year and didnt seem interested in cowher b/c he did not want to get rid of ireland, and i beleive this is a good move. i think ireland, ross, and whatever coach we bring in (up and coming guy im sure if this article holds weight) go after their QB this season and they keep our peices in place, they just get some coaches who know how to utilize them.

i really feel bad for Tony Sparano as i like the guy and feel he kinda got screwed in this whole mess and might have just been in over his head this year - going out and standing by his players and his OC hire etc. only to get screwed with some serious holes on the o-line and elsewhere. i hope he has success someplace else but i am optomistic that ireland and ross can keep this team intact and get us a firey head coach and QB who can put us over the top.

Don't feel bad for him. He got paid millions to be a losing head coach. How many of us would get rewarded for being screwups? Not one of us. Don't cry for Tony, he's set for life.

i have to say im still very much in favor of bringing on gruden. of course the one thing we simply dont know is how that would work behind the scenes and how much control he would want. the same is true with cowher, and in cowhers case we know he wants his own guys and complete control. my concern is exactly what u pointed out - with cowher. complete housing cleaning followed by potentially a guy that perhaps doesnt see the job through to the end.

its gotta be the right mix. and whoever is making the picks and whoever is coaching need to work in harmony, completely in sync.

as fans that is ABSOLUTELY the ONE THING we can simply never know - is if the ideas we put forth, while in theory, might make sense - if the chemistry and the ideals and vision of all parties are not aligned. we can simply never know. so we dont have the correct answer necessarily. we simply dont have enough information to make that call.

this is why jerseyfinfan made a very valid point about ross's vision. so far i dont see anything to dislike about it. even tho so many fans hate for no reason.

the guy wants to win. he wants to be exciting offensively, and he wants gameday to be an experience. that sounds like a winner to me!

going to games prior to his arrival i felt like i was still in the 70s with the stupid dolphins fight song played etc. i dont know whats changed. but he obviously knows the experience wasnt good enough before. and it wasnt.

ive been critical of some of irelands moves. but it seems maybe he didnt have the ok to find some players, and one draft can only go so far.

we dont know - MAYBE ireland wanted matt ryan - we dont know he didnt. all we know is he wasnt making the choices. its clear LONG, MERLING, HENNE, PAT WHITE - those we ALL bill PARCELLS picks. shawn murphy, earnest wilford, trading satele, ginn, signing grove, smiley....these WERE ALL PARCELLS MOVES. so how do KNOW ireland hasnt made good choices evaluating talent? he did a pretty good job with this draft. it really looks like pouncey, and thomas are going to be very good players. i really think Jimmy Wilson has shown enough to say that he can develop into a guy that makes plays. clyde gates im not at all impressed with BUT its only his first year and ireland was kinda forced to add some speed to the roster - so it WASNT a bad pick. kearse has been stolen essentially because we didnt add him to the roster. so it looks like a good draft. it looks more promising early on with the picks we had than ANY previous draft under parcells. AND i might add that ireland is the guy that FOUGHT with bill parcells about taking demarcus Ware.

looks like ireland got that one correct. parcells wanted to draft spears

Ireland wanted to draft Matt Ryan, but Bill wanted Long.

The coach is obviously the scape goat...**** in all honesty maybe Ireland is doing the play calls...

The biggest thing of all that kills me more then anything is tha Miami is only 8-9 million below the cap..Just looking at the team you would think they were 30 million below the cap and we just got into the league.

Another problem i have with this team is that we signed Burnett,Dansby,Bush and Franchised ****ing Solai....Seriously these guys that ive mentioned are not worth half of what we got them for..Theres a reason the Chargers,Cardinals and Saints let these guys go without blinking an EYE.Who ever ****ing did this absolutely blows at running a team.

Thank god for Fantasy football.

By the way, does it really shock anybody that Ireland would throw Tony Sparano under the bus just to save his own skin? I mean, he did it once already when he flew to California with Ross to recruit Harbaugh.

Funny story. Me and my buddy went to the Niners game in '08. We went into the stadium pro shop and in the corner I notice Paul Tagliabue and Stephen Ross talking. We got Tagliabue to come over and take photos with us but I completely ignored Ross(not that he cared). He had not completed the purchase from Huizenga yet and I already knew who he was but I really didn't give a crap that I didn't get a photo with him. The article today only re-enforces my initial impression of this guy. I was hoping that he would be like Huizenga and do anything to try and bring a SB title back to Miami but it seems he's let everyone down. The fact he tried to buy the Jets before he tried to buy the Phins is a bad sign as well. He sees it as a business venture and not a "passion project" which Huizenga did. I really don't think Wayne cared if he lost 10 million a year with the Phins(I don't think he ever did)but I think Ross does.

i know people on here hate on ireland and he may be a douch bag as a person but i dont think getting rid of him is the right move for this team now. Lets face it he has brought more talent here then we have had in 10 years. They might not be playing well now but the talent is there minus 2-3 pieces. I think if we keep this team in tact draft a franchise QB, sure up the oline with a draft pick and a FA or 2 and pick up a Ball hawking FS and a TE we will be greatly improved. But the biggest thing we need is a head coach that knows what he is doing and doesnt look lost out there.

ireland is a douche but in reality its not his job to be Tony's friend

Wait.. are you insinuating Ross move the team?

Yeah, but don't tell that to Tony. Tony is obviously still heartbroken that Ireland went on the Harbaugh recruiting trip with Ross. Again, just another example of how truly naive our head coach is.

Here is a FACT, Ireland is personally responsible for bringing in each and evey single cast off Dallas Cowboy. That is pure fact

I dont buy that Ross was telling us not to sign free agents. we overspent on Dansby and Marshall last year and put a huge overpriced tag on Solai
