Salguero: Ross may hire football czar

I would be excited for Dan and have some hope going fwd.
 
you all may laugh but I would hire CKParrothead as GM. Tedslimm as Director of scouting. They would fix this team in two years.

It could be Dan. I heard Kirwin say the other day that Dan was a good friend of his. He said that every Sunday he watched the games with him at CBS.

He didn't get cold feet. His position was merely a figure head position with absolutely no powers whatsoever. More like an Ambassador of the Dolphins - talk the Dolphins nice even if they suck. He was not willing to do that.

I expect the guy to hit even some of the time on the picks that matter the most. I definitely expect him not to cheat, nor am i inclined to forgive him when its against us.

Im not looking for some minuscule improvement, i want someone capable of making a definitive difference with this franchise. Finding a GM that even sometimes hits on mid round selections isnt a mystical journey that involves virgin sacrifices and dragon slaying. We can find a Gm who can hit on those picks. Easily.

I would honestly take CK, Slimm, Hoops, and that McKenzie kid over our whole scouting department and GM right now. Keep Aponte for the cap and we would be set! I am quite sure that we would do at least as good if not better in their first year much less once they got settled in. Our current group sucks!

I'm one of Ck's biggest fans and a supporter of him working for the Dolphins. But let's start in the organization with his recommendations to the GM. He lacks the experience to be GM.
 
First off hiring a czar is not gonna sell tickets mr Ross. Winning and winning alone is the only thing. That or u need to setup shop in places where there is nothing else to do. Second. Don Shula on that list is insane. Guy is in a wheelchair. Marino? Come on he was involved for a week and decided it was not for him. He does not wanna put the work in. If he wanted a czar he should have just kept parcells. Dungy was only a good coach that's it and he had a great qb and still only got one Super Bowl. The only czar I would be on board with is bill Polian but I don't know if I want his kids involved which pretty much means they would be if hired. Cowher but only if he is coaching as well.

He did hit on picks. Every GM, even the best, miss on picks and FA's.
 
CK thought Jake Long was not a LT.

CK was pushing for Ted Ginn as I recall. all day. all night long.

I respect CK for in depth information as well as good writing and such, but lets not think he wouldnt miss. Its much different sitting in the seat. Its not madden.

And some GM's miss more then others. Which is one of the reasons why they are fired. Sometimes twice.

Mangini can select some good players on occasion. He cant build a good team. We arent 1 or 2 players away from a Superbowl. Mangini wont bridge the gap.
 
I was listening to Scott Pioli's radio show on my way to work and a caller called in and asked what he would do to fix the Dolphins if given the opportunity. He responded quickly, first pointing out that they have a few really good pieces in Philbin and Tannehill. He couldn't stop saying what a great coach Philbin is and how much potential Tannehill has. He then went on to say that he would first address the Oline, then add something to the secondary and get a RB. Bring in Pioli and get rid of Ireland! Things will run more smoothly and he knows what we have, and what we need!
