Im starting to think we might have a long term solution at guard. Idk if many of u know who mathis is but he is the starting Right or left guard for the eagles and is rated #1 by pff he was on the phins practice squad few years ago. Im not sure if any of u are paying close attention to brenner but he is mauling people on run plays. I provided a photo of brenner sealing the edge on the daniel thomas 55 yard run. I like this kid a lot.

Brenner wasn't drafted for whatever reason but he seemed like a pretty smart and stout player at Utah. Hopefully he can continue to get better and better. Then we'll have a steal.

I will say this again as bad as lined played early in the season every oline man on the roster should have had a shot.

pump the brakes...mathis is the best left guard in football now that mankins has fallen off that pedestal

Anyone with knowledge of guard play view the tape of game and give an opinion on how he has played?

I laugh every time I see him lined up next to Mt McKinnie. Its quite the site but Brenner is making the most out of a great opportunity much like Clay and to a lesser degree R. Mathews. He looks good.

Alot of these young guys are looking good. I think patience is something that is in short supply among this forum. Coaching and developing talent is not done over night. Im glad Ross, the successful businessman, self-made billionaire has what so many on this forum lack, patience.

I am willing to look at any answers that are in house to help on the line for 2014. At this point, Pouncey is the only guy I would say is a lock to come back. McKinnie and Clabo are long in the tooth. Jerry is terrible IMO. Garner is good, but might help best as a back up if the guards can be upgraded. Maybe Brenner is an answer.

What is there not to understand? The prospect of finding four new linemen this offseason is daunting. If an in house candidate such as Brenner could fit the bill at guard that would be great. I do not think that either tackle is the answer and John Jerry has been the worst lineman this year. I am huge Garner fan. He should have been playing early this year. However, he might help best by being a back up.

I am not sure what is so hard to understand.

Brenner is undersized, but very scrappy. The oline is playing better, but we need another infusion of youth and talent. McKinnie is worth keeping as insurance at tackle, but RG and RT need some new blood.

So Sam Brenner sucks? What are you saying? this thread is about Brenner and you say Pouncey is the only guy.

Why cant Mckinney be a guy for one or two more years while we draft our future? Is not Mckinney doing the job? for that matter, is not Clabo doing the job?

Anyone see the D. Thomas 5 yard TD? Clabo blocked down and created that huge hole.

finaly, something I can sink my teeth into. We need alot of infusion on the OL. Line em up bigtime and the loser goes to PS or gets cut. If you resign the old guys you can always make it so if you cut them because the rook knocks them off, you just covered your bases.

Injuries happen way too frequently in this league. load em up! May the best non-puzzy win.
