Out of how many repetitions? What's the error rate?
Further, I recall Pouncey (a converted OG) having trouble in his 1st TC.
Nothing against Tyler Larsen; I advocated for Miami to draft Gabe Ikard as Pouncey's successor and possibly for depth at OG.
Agreed, they have to go to something. I know you think a little higher of Garner than myself. He is versatile and good depth for sure was hoping when he was given more playing time he would step up even more but I just remember games where I didn't see it. He can improve yes but not sure just how much at this stage.
We finally have some depth at WR and some good battles for roster spots but this OL is going to be a major challenge all year long I'm afraid.
satele would be the best center we have short of Pouncey, and that's sad

5 in 4 practices is beyond awful. No other "starting" NFL center has that rate in the first few days of practice

I would rather have Cook than Satele but both are better than what they have currently. Larsen may be the future, I doubt he's ready right now though

talking about exaggerating, its the first 4 practices...if he is still doing it after the first preseason game its gonna be concerning, after 4 practices and getting told he would be the C 2 days before TC started its no issue yet

I wasnt going to post on this but then I rhought about it and maybe bringing Satele in if anything to try out! Who knows he might do ok in Lazors offense. And he has been a starting center! All he needs is time with a qb ! And its not like we would need him all year unless Pouncey has gotten himself in a hole that he cant come back from like legal things!

I remember Pouncey having a few bad snaps in his first camp, however in short time he cleaned thing up and had a good rookie season. The same thing could happen with Smith.
And the players we have available on our roster to play C do not suck?
Satele is a PROVEN NFL veteran who has started many games at C. We need someone competent. Satele is our best option thanks to the our FO and Philbin being clueless during the offseason.

Anyone here want to wait until the first pre-season game to find out we don't have a competent center on our roster? Not me. Centers make all the line calls, and really need reps and chemistry with the QB to be successful. We need to bring in some vet centers right now. Fact is Satele is 30 yrs old and has started in over 100 NFL games, and you just cannot replace that experience. He may not be all-pro anymore, but he's better than any active center on our roster. I think Kyle Cook (31 yrs old, 66 games started) is out there too.
