He was a high ranking personnel guy on the team. The team is full of softies with poor instincts/awareness/toughness. For you to say that Gaine had NOTHING to do with that is beyond comical.

Please tell me how many of those players he drafted? or signed? ZERO. You can't pin anything on him just because he worked for Jeff. Gaine has yet to make a draft pick or signing.

So what you are saying is that he was a useless person in the organization and Ireland ignored his reports and recommendations? Id love to see the list of players you imply Gaine wanted Ireland to draft that Ireland overruled. Thanks for the great comedy.

Just because he worked with JI should not remove him from contention. Just because someone hires you this doesn't mean you agree with them on everything or anything.

I will say this, the Dolphins know more about Gaine than anyone else. That can't be a bad thing.

No I'm saying his opnion doesn't matter because no matter what you as the GM are gonna do what YOU want to. That's why you're the GM. In Detroit under Matt Millen every scout and front office person, even Millen's son wanted Demarcus Ware. But Millen took Mike Williams instead. Point is as the GM YOU do whatever YOU want. That's why you're in charge. And you want to talk about comedy? You saying being a practice squad player is nothing more than an internship. That's officially the dumbest ****ing thing I have ever heard. I'm done wasting time arguing with someone who ACTUALLY believes that.

I don't disagree with that thought process. However you can also make a serious argument the best person could be someone that has been with the franchise. You (Ross) will know where Gaine stands on all the major draft picks and FA signings. Depending where Gaine stood on those you can either remove him from contention or keep him in it.

The thing is Ireland wasn't always wrong either. This black and white blame game some of you play IMO is so very unfair.

Like I said, I'd love to see the list of players you know were Gaine's recommendations that Ireland ignored and did whatever he wanted. Surely you must have that list since you are 100% convinced Gaine had nothing to do with Ireland's decisions.
 
This thread reminds me why I don't like to get into emotional back and forth disputes. Nobody changes their mind, waste of time, and both sides come across poorly. I like it in person when you end up shaking hands and gaining respect but that's never how it evolves on the internet.

I have no idea if JI took Gaines advice or not, but I'm pretty confident the Dolphins franchise, the ppl within it will know the truth of that.

I try to kept it classy and support my arguments without name calling unlike the other person. You know what they say, the moment you resort to name calling is the moment you know you lost the argument.
 
I want them to Hire Gaine, just to see all these people go buck wild pissed. That'll be classic. Ready the servers finheaven admins if that happens. PLEASE HIRE GAINE.
