Say what you want....but Luck?

Some dolfans like mediocre QBs.

Those of you that are risk averse...are like Tony...play and draft not to lose or take chances with draft picks.

It probably reflects your personal lives in which you take no chances...

Luck's red zone numbers this season:

61% completion percentage, 8 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
You must be watching the wrong online videos. Clearly he's all hype. He's good but not that good. Just ask the OP

You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Ryan Leaf was never a "can't miss" prospect. He was a complete head case.

That's what I thought...

The mediocre QB lovers always bring up Ryan Leaf.

We haven't drafted a first round QB in forever and how many more decades can we waste?

We have NO WHERE by drafting garbage and bringing in garbage.

It's time to draft a first round QB.

THe other approach has led us to an 0-4 season

There is nothing that I "don't like". I have stated that I can see that he is a very good QB and he could really turn into something. To me he just doesn't stand out as some franchise savior like so many seem to be touting him as. He's very good, no doubt.
But, is he really any different than Tim Tebow was?

You need to just stop now before you embarrass yourself anymore.

Tim Tebow played in a gimmick offense. His accuracy is very off. His mechanics are shot to hell, especially that awful release. He can't read a defense, pre or post snap. He's a glorified runningback.

There's no ****ing comparison AT ALL. Luck plays in a pro style offense. Has elite accuracy, touch, and timing. Has terrific footwork and mechanics. Is as good as a QB as you're ever going to find at pre and post snap reads. Has very good mobility.

anybody see that one handed catch on the sideline by luck on the wr pass back to the qb wheel route pretty much saturday??? rediculous catch...i've made it my duty to watch and evaluate every game lucks played this season and i come away in awe with how much command of the huddle he has how well he sees the field his on field demeanor never changes his arm on the seam throws down the field to the te's and accuracy...this kids the goods...his mobility...his intelligence...his mastery of the offense...he sees the field like a maestro in the red zone...his head movement to manipulate coverages...the accuracy on the run and on the designed roll outs

this is peyton manning all over again with aaron rodgers legs...wait and see

my kingdom for andrew luck

I don't think there's anything Andrew Luck can't do. Near perfect as a QB. And then you see him hitting people like a linebacker, forcing a fumble. And then you see him breaking off 50 yard runs with one of the nastiest stiff arms you'll ever see. And then you see this guy making one hand catches on the sidelines.

Harsh but true.

As for the thread starter... You and I see very different things when we watch Luck.

I wish people would stop bringing up the Leaf example. He failed for a very simple reason: he was a HOTHEAD. There is NOTHING about the Luck that would suggest he is similar to Leaf. He seems to be a student of the game, and quite intelligent, given his degree from Stanford. He is more similar to Peyton Manning than Leaf.
Thank you! Instant loss of credibility when his name is brought up in comparison.

I'm an NFL scout.. You come out and pretty much garauntee the kid wont pan out. Youre making more of a statement than any of us LuckLovers are. Besides, ALL signs point to him be successful. Watch a game or two and pay more attention.

Did I? Where did I say that?

You obviously dont watch enough game tape or know what to look for when watching it. If you dont think Andrew Luck is impressive and the best QB prospect to come out since Manning(hell maybe even better then Manning with that mobility) then you should probaly just stop trying to evalulate players. If you think Luck is closer to Tebow then Manning, what the hell do you think about Barkley and Jones? Ryan Leaf and Pat White?

If you'd rather have some coach who is sitting on his butt in a studio or in a booth somewhere over Andrew Luck, you are insane.

I really don't like that wide 9 at all quite frankly.

Yeah the hell with that. Wake would have some crazy numbers (Babin already has 7 sacks) but damn our run defense would suck. Also, it's a zone D with no blitzing. Not a fan.

Reid is an interesting choice if he runs the damn ball. He is unfairly chastised a lot in Philly, but when he leaves Iggle fans are gonna see that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. I also have to give him credit; he knows when to get rid of players at the right time; Bobby Taylor, Vincent Smith, Hugh Douglas, Jeremiah Trotter, Shawn Barber, Sheldon Brown,Deuce Staley, Bryan Westbrook and Lito Sheppard are just a few players that were very good while in Philly, but never returned to form after being shown the door.

Luck and Reid would be a thing of beauty... hell Reid with some of our offensive weapons is a thing of beauty (he had a great offense with Todd Pinkston, Freddie Mitchell, and James Thrash as his top WRs and Chad Lewis at TE) but I don't want to think about him. I'd look at some people that are connected to the same Mike Holgren coaching tree though. That includes John Gruden, his brother Jay (Cincy's offense is average, but considering how young the offense is and how well they've been executing is nice), or Darrell Bevell (was OC in name in Minny, but his offense in Seattle is starting to click after a rough first 2 weeks).

Honestly, as long as whoever the GM, Ireland or not, backs the coach and the coach has a clear vision of what he wants to do they should do fine. Pat Shurmur was an unimpressive hire by the Browns, but he runs the type of offense Holmgren wants to run, and he has a clear vision of what he wants to do and I can already see improvements under Shurmur that I didn't see under Mangini. Same with Mike McCarthy when he was hired as HC in Green Bay.

I think it has become evident that Sparano doesn't have a plan of what he wants us to be, and the one he did have with Parcells here was too outdated

I remember another can't miss college great that was a #1 overall....They just drooled over him until...Until...He got on the SD practice field.

The late & great...Ryan Leaf

Except he was not the first overall pick. He was also a one year wonder and an idiot.

OP is clearly clueless and has no idea what he is looking at while watching football.
