Say what you want....but Luck?

Dear lord. Unbelievable how people miss the point completely.

OP isn't arguing *against* Luck. He isn't arguing that Luck will suck. He isn't arguing about picking him. He's just saying "I don't see the next coming of Montana, Marino and Manning wrapped into one that everyone is so sure they see". That's all.

What responses does he get?

- "Uhhh... you're not a scout so shut up". Like you, poster X, are.
- "You obviously don't watch enough tape". Like you, poster X, surely do.
- "Everyone 'in the know' has already annointed him". Because no consensus second-coming has ever failed to live to expectations, nevermind bust altogether.
- "Lolz stupid". Clever.

I made a point earlier that I didn't think any single player is worth sacrificing an entire draft class, or three 1st rounders, or whatever idiocy of a trade for. I got the same responses. My point didn't even had to do with Luck in particular - just the overall variability in opinions regarding QBs, and actual results - but I got the same responses.

Now I know what other teams' fans feel when they come here. If you disagree with the program, you *will* be chewed out into oblivion. Because only MY opinion matters, right?

Yeah the hell with that. Wake would have some crazy numbers (Babin already has 7 sacks) but damn our run defense would suck. Also, it's a zone D with no blitzing. Not a fan.

Reid is an interesting choice if he runs the damn ball. He is unfairly chastised a lot in Philly, but when he leaves Iggle fans are gonna see that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. I also have to give him credit; he knows when to get rid of players at the right time; Bobby Taylor, Vincent Smith, Hugh Douglas, Jeremiah Trotter, Shawn Barber, Sheldon Brown,Deuce Staley, Bryan Westbrook and Lito Sheppard are just a few players that were very good while in Philly, but never returned to form after being shown the door.

Luck and Reid would be a thing of beauty... hell Reid with some of our offensive weapons is a thing of beauty (he had a great offense with Todd Pinkston, Freddie Mitchell, and James Thrash as his top WRs and Chad Lewis at TE) but I don't want to think about him. I'd look at some people that are connected to the same Mike Holgren coaching tree though. That includes John Gruden, his brother Jay (Cincy's offense is average, but considering how young the offense is and how well they've been executing is nice), or Darrell Bevell (was OC in name in Minny, but his offense in Seattle is starting to click after a rough first 2 weeks).

Honestly, as long as whoever the GM, Ireland or not, backs the coach and the coach has a clear vision of what he wants to do they should do fine. Pat Shurmur was an unimpressive hire by the Browns, but he runs the type of offense Holmgren wants to run, and he has a clear vision of what he wants to do and I can already see improvements under Shurmur that I didn't see under Mangini. Same with Mike McCarthy when he was hired as HC in Green Bay.

I think it has become evident that Sparano doesn't have a plan of what he wants us to be, and the one he did have with Parcells here was too outdated

If Andy Reid was ever shown the door, he would instantly go to the top of my list so long as he keeps that wide 9 crap in Philly. Andy Reid would guarantee us a top offense, and with Luck, would be unstoppable. Just get us a legit defensive coordinator.

I don't care what his point was. He said, and I quote, "But, is he really any different than Tim Tebow was?" That is the dumbest ****ing thing I have ever read on this board, and that is saying a hell of a lot, because I've read some stupid **** on here.

Is this supposed to be a thread evaluating a quarterback?
It's not their fault. As Dolphins fans, it's been over a decade since we've seen what good QB play looks like, let alone great. Our evaluating skills are a bit rusty after they were pissed on by the likes of Beck, Lucas, Lemon, Fiedler, etc.

LMAO...only on finheaven do we see this. Luck whos is considered THE BEST prospect coming out since Manning, getting rideculed by an average fan. Awesome!!
Are you something more than an "average fan"? Luck is a great PROSPECT, but he is not a sure thing.

Neither is getting herpes from a Thai whorehouse, but do you really want to risk it?

He's as close to a sure thing as anybody that's come out in the past decade. You would be okay with us not taking him if we had the chance?

No, I would absolutely take him. It's just that he seems to get respect like a HOFer without ever playing a down in the NFL. Also, there are other things that can be caught in Thai whorehouse,

Only fools that love mediocre QBs are against Luck.

Many of you don't take chances in real life. You are the same way with your thinking about your football team. You want to take no chances and no risks...We have done that and have a decade of nothing.

Understood. Anyone who is wrapped up predominantly in Miami Dolphins football would have no idea what talent actually looks like.

Although the OP is obviously lost when it comes to football in general, I've read all his posts.

He doesn't know whether to wind his head or scratch his watch.... but he's not alone by a long shot.

Agreed. He'll have to prove himself in the NFL, just like all the rest of them did.

The most important thing is that you have to make sure legitimate quarterback prospects like this get a chance to prove it for YOUR team, and not somebody else's.

Once they've proven themselves as franchise quarterbacks in the NFL it's too late.

Nah, he's getting the respect that he's earned as a top notch player that extends beyond just what he's done on the field. He's a leader the likes of which the Dolphins haven't seen since Zach Thomas, only he plays a FAR more important position; one that can turn a franchise around. I'd say people have plenty to be excited about in the even slight chance we get him. What else do they have to look forward too? This team ****ing sucks and everybody is sick of it. Luck is a light at the end of the sewage tunnel of mediocrity this team has been wallowing in for over ten years because they don't understand what plenty of fans on a freaking message board have known for years.

It's a good thing the rest of us have geniuses like you guys to teach us about football.

Well, it's either that or teach finite math to a goldfish.... Suffice it to say the goldfish is the one making progress....
