Schein: Ross is clueless and Miami has the worst quarterback corps in the league

Off the top of my head, the following teams have worse QB situations than the Dolphins:

Jaguars
Cardinals
Jets
Browns
Titans
Chiefs
Vikings
49ers
Seahawks
Rams

Is this Schein guy a Jets fan? Sounds like a New Yorka.

Also, he makes it seem like agreeing to Hard Knocks will destroy the season. How so? Not ready for prime time? Since when is Hard Knocks about "prime time" teams? Most of the time they have had teams coming off of losing seasons, like the Bengals.

"Shame on you"

What a tool.

Bradford, Flynn, and Alex Smith are all better than moore ever could be.

Bradford, Flynn, and Alex Smith are all better than moore ever could be.

Bradford maybe; but Smith did worse when he had about as much to play with before this past season. Flynn was a 7th round pick for a reason from an awful QB college, with 2 good games for an offensive juggernaut although actually one of them was worse than one of Moore's better games for a very limited Panthers team. Beyond that, Flynn was someone even his coach didn't really want to overpay. But keep shoveling it

Lets be honest here Jets guy, Sanchez sucks. He's had his time, he's had a talented team around him on offense and he just isn't that good. If I were a jets fan and I'd want him gone. I'd also want Tebow off the roster as well because you're gonna end up in the same situation Denver was in last year and this isn't the AFC west. This is the year for sanchez. If he doesn't have a break out season he's done in New York. Just pray (ha) that tebow doesn't win when he gets the starting job mid season.

Let's also clear some things up before you attack the dolphins QB situation. I think Moore is trash. He's a back up that was asked to do very little last season and we managed to win some games against scrub teams while good teams, NYG, DAL, Philly, NE...he was horrible and even against some of the ****ty teams like the JETS he got rocked. I wasn't totally behind Henne. Last year was his year to break out and he got hurt coupled with yet another offensive coordinator who sucked and no talent around him on offense. He has the arm talent but needs good coaching to maybe be above average in NFL. I wouldn't be surprised if he did well somewhere else nor if he never got another solid chance to start in the NFL. Tannehill looks nasty IMO based off his college games. I've watched about 85 percent of his throws from college and I'm excitited. He's got IMO 3 full years of starting to make an impact but I'm optimistic.

Garrad is the wild card for MIA. He's an above average game manager that could have been better than sanchez on his title game runs. Too bad the jets FO was stupid to trade up like they did for a marginal talent.

and if you guys got Flynn you'd be telling me how he was better than Sanchez and how good he will be for Miami.

A guy that sucks doesn't make 2 title games in back to back years. No matter how good your D is you can't carry a bad QB especilly in this era where the AFC has been very good. maybe back when the AFC stunk in mid 80s through mid 90s but not now. There are too many good teams and you need quality QB play to win and Mark has given us that.

moore wasnt a high draft pick either. he didnt make a roster in dallas and was let go by the panthers for a reason. The dolphins also used a top ten pick on tannehill because moore is trash. see how this game works? Alex Smith may have had the worst WR corp in the league last year if you don't count TEs. He's had a rough career due to the coaching changes on offense and sub par play from players like Edwards and Crabtree. Would I draft him 1 overall? hell ****ing no. Would I prefer him over moore? All day, every day and twice on sunday.

and if you guys got Flynn you'd be telling me how he was better than Sanchez and how good he will be for Miami.
If Philbin was really sold on Flynn(which he obviously wasn't) I would have a much better outlook for Flynn than I do right now. Would I say Flynn is better than Sanchez? Hard to argue that when he has only started two NFL games. Flynn appears to have been overrated by people and media after his big game in Week 17, but teams obviously are not sold on him. His own OC wasn't even convinced he was a franchise QB to build around, felt more like a guy that would be competition for Moore. When he demanded a big contract he just wasn't worth it. Hell even Seattle doesn't appear sold on him and they are the ones that gave him big bucks.

I feel much better about the future with a guy like Tannehill than a guy like Flynn. Miami had the most inside information on both guys and they obviously feel much stronger about Tannehill being a franchise quarterback. Hard to argue with them.

because the broncos weren't one game away from a title game with tebow and a defense not nearly as good (supposedly) as the jets had been. If you think Sanchez is your answer at QB then you obviously don't know football. The only reason I'd give him one more season was because of what youve spent to get him on top of the TEAM getting to the AFC title game. Henne ran out of time and rightfully so. Moore is obviously not an NFL starter (just like sanchez IMO) but nothing was spent on him and he has very little potential so he can be cut lose at anytime.

Have fun with Tebow as your starter by midseason unless Sanchez lights it up or your D is so good you power your way to a winning record.

Edwards was subpar for Smith but you told me how talented Sanchez's O was around him- which is it? I get your point, I agree Smith is obviously better than Moore but you can't knock Sanchez for having talent than give Smith a pass for having the same WR. Mark has had new weapons every year.

2009: starters Stuckey & Cotchery, 4 games in we trade Stuckey for Edwards
2010: we acquire Holmes who has to sit out 4 games
2011: Cotch is gone, Braylon gone and we bring in Plax and Mason then we get rid of Mason after a month

You don't think that turnover has hurt him?

Maybe he was sold and the owner wanted a top 10 pick? I don't know, I know they did look into him and did try to get him. It came down to Sea and Miami. I don't know if it was a good or bad move by Miami, personally I would prefer the way you guys went. Tannehill is a talented guy and could be there for a decade +, I hope he busts(in Miami) but we'll see.

I'd take Flynn over Sanchez and Moore but not over Tannehill. The dolphins didn't wanna over pay for Flynn and if the plan was to target Tannehill the whole time then they made the right choice.

What do the Broncos have to do w/ it? den was humiliated in the 2nd rd and they won a HOME playoff game. The jets w/ Sanchez beat up that same Pats team ont he same field a year earlier and won 4 ROAD playoff games and didn't lose badly in either of their playoff losses.

Do I think Sanchez is a great QB? of course not, do I thnk we can win a SB w/ him? absolutely, we came pretty close his first 2 years.

yes, tebow will be starting by midseason which is why the Jets are using him as the up man on punts. Clearly they have no regard for their future starter.

Smith had Edwards how many years older? Plus the 49ers CUT edwards before the playoffs since he was so ****ty and such a cancer for the team at that point. Edwards was decent in NY. Holmes is a pro bowl level WR but the suspension hurt him last year. He's def not a solid number one but the jets have had far more talent at WR than the dolphins or 49ers over the sanchez tenure.

If I were a jets fan I'd be upset about letting brad smith go. Dude was clutch and athletic just really raw as a WR.

lol because I'm the only one that has predicted tebow starts by mid season....I really hope it happens because that means the jets will suck ass for two season or more.

Of course you CAN win with sanchez as a quarterback. The ravens won with trent dilfer didn't they? lol I'd take dilfer over sanchez all day too.

And Moore hasn't had a rough career? You do realize that he was playing for a lame duck coach who didn't give a damn and still produced half of their victories in 35% of their starts.. and that the next year, Cam Newton with an engaged coach, an upgraded offense including studly TEs and some magical legs topped his 1-4 by going 1-5 and 2-10 before he kicked in. Do you believe if he wasn't the #1 draft pick, he'd have been allowed to continue beyond Moore who was reinjured after coming off a concussion. Moore has had no mentors; Smith can use whatever excuses but Beason is right, like Sanchez his team carried him more than vice versa. Harbaugh was smart enough to keep him out of the way most of the time. You say that Moore was let go for a reason? What about Flynn considering the guy who knew him best, obviously didn't think he was better than Moore and Seattle now has a 3 QB open competition. Hey you're entitled to your opinions, but like mine, they're just that, so please don't spout them as "fact."

Let's lay off "The owner wanted" stuff, I hear that so much from people talking about Miami whether it is from NFL fans like you or people in the media. It is getting ridiculous. Ross is not involved really at all when it comes to making football player decisions. Was he giddy about getting Manning and pushing for him? Yes, but pushing for Tannehill? Now that is going a little overboard. Jeff Ireland is making the player decisions and draft decisions, not Ross. Ireland gets input from his staff and from the coaching staff like Philbin, Croyle and Sherman.

I am sure the football staff had long talks about what they wanted to do at the quarterback position. It sounds and looks like the plan all along was to have Moore compete with a veteran free agent addition and draft a quarterback for the future. Obviously Seattle is not sold on Flynn long term because they are having him compete with Jackson and went out and drafted Wilson. There was a lot of buzz that if Tannehill fell to #12 that Seattle was already set to take him, and Pete Carroll was "giggling like a school girl" at Tannehill's Pro Day because he was so excited about the idea of drafting him. I truly believe the plan was to sign Flynn and draft Tannehill. Though Flynn wanted a lot more money than what Miami was offering, so he chased the money to Seattle and Miami went ahead with Garrard.

Moore was always going to compete with a free agent veteran and Tannehill was always the target in round 1. Flynn was obviously the first choice and when he wanted more than just competing money they kicked the tires of Alex Smith and David Garrard.

As for Ross making decisions, that perception is getting old. Just look at how your good buddy Adam Schein went on about how Ross forced Hard Knocks on Philbin. Yet Philbin is the one who spearheaded the Hard Knocks decision and reportedly had to actually talk Ross into doing it.
