Scott Linehan/Randy Moss debate....

I think their center is the probably the one they miss the most.

A friend (Lions fan) and I were debating about yesterday's games....We were debating on how the Minnesota Vikings struggled without Randy Moss and Scott Linehan...

My friend states that the Vikings are struggling because Randy Moss is now gone, regardless of Scott Linehan, and how much Culppeper needs Moss right now....Basically saying the Vikings reason for struggles come because Culppeper has no one to throw it too...

I told him I thought it was because Scott Linehan was not there anymore, regardless of Randy Moss, and how Scott Linehan made a huge difference in the way they ran their system and were able to put up lots of points in every game...I said that it seems Culppeper must not be familiar with a new system and is having trouble adjusting. I also pointed out on how we (Dolphins) managed to put up 27 offensive points without a Culpepper or a Randy Moss....

So what do you guys think???? You think Linehan has alot to do with it, or do you think it was really the absence of Randy Moss???

Theire center yesterday was getting pushed back four yards on nearly every play. No RB or Randy Moss would've helped. He made Seth look like an all pro the way he got pushed back all day.

Who says that Linehan wants to go back to Minnesota, given his experience as a low-paid coordinator underneath the lowest-paid head coach in the league and neither one of them able to get a meaningful raise.

Nick Saban was offered pro jobs for nearly a decade before finding the one that he wanted. There are much better jobs than Minnesota's that will come open down the line, and Saban will make sure that Linehan knows that.

Saban WAS a head coach and was the HIGHEST paid coach in college. That is a huge difference.

Linehan can go to Minny, be a head coach. (still get paid more than any offensive coordinator in the league) make name for himself for a couple years, then get a better head coaching job somewhere else.

If/when Scot is offered a head coaching job he's gone. Nobody will turn that down to stay a coordinator.

If the Vikings struggle he will be the head coach of Minny next season. Take it to the bank.

Linehan will be 1 and done in Miami. He is a hot assistant.

Boooooo......that sucks if you are right. Go Vikes.....Go Vikes...Go Vikes....

It's gotta be some of both...Moss is All-World, despite his prima-donna antics. But teams have had good receivers and not been able to do much with them (how about the Falcons, how about the Lions recently). You have to have other pieces in place to make it happen right. Culpepper is adjusting to the new scheme, but is a QB that is very capable...Had Peyton not had a career year, all the talk would have been about Culpepper last year. Moss had 13 of his 39...that's a lot, but not unattainable by lesser WRs...That said, if you watched our game Sunday, you would have seen a lot of things we haven't seen here for quite a while...like more vertical passes, like reverses, like adjustments to the OL when the Broncs showed they had our number early in the game...things we didn't see much of the last several years. Most importantly, and I am guessing here, I'd bet we didn't see the HC pulling the reigns in on the OCs playcalling...that speaks volumes to me...

But Minny will miss Linehan and Moss. They'll always be compared to life with vs. life w/o Moss because of his ability...

maybe in culpepper's case, the wonderlic score(s) weren't lying, the dude has trouble learning.
