Sean Taylor faces more charges, could spend up to 46 years in prison.

You beat me by 2 minutes. He hasn't been tried yet though. But you're right, what a waste. :shakeno:

Are you serious? He'll do 30 days, tops. He's famous and rich. Laws don't apply to those groups.

what a shame for a young tslented player!! the next rae CArruth

It's called Plea Bargaining

It'll be reduced to a LESSER charge, and will serve a short, or no, jail time.
He'll be given a DEFERRED jail sentence with probation........so if he acts up again, the jail time will be enforced.

No wasted talent here......he'll be fine....as long as he is good going forward.

Look, this doesn't mean that he's going to go to Jail for 46 years, IMO. Prosecutors often add as many new charges (or counts) as they can when they sense the (even the remote) possibility that the guy (or gal) may not go down on the initial charge and walk free. They figure that if they add as many charges as possible (even ones they are sure that the person won't go down on), they will increase the likelihood that they'll get the person on at least one of the charges or counts. This doesn't mean that Taylor is out of the woods because it does make the defense counsel work more challenging. For instance, with so many angles to the different counts or charges, Taylor will have to keep his story straight for all three cases or counts...and pray that the witnesses (if any) do not come off as credible and/or other evidence does not seem convincing. With added counts or charges, it would give the prosecutors the added advantage/opportunity to catch him say something incriminating for one case as he tries to get out of the other if he has to testify and/or based on his previous statemetns to the police.

It's obvious that the prosecutor really wants to nail him. Expect the prosecutor to show no mercy if Taylor is found guilty. He'll beg/demand that the Judge sentence him for a lengthy period if he gets Taylor. This is my personal opinion based on the way he has spoken to the media.
