Very simple.

What does he have to do to get you to believe in him?

Playoffs? QB rating? Yards? TDs?

What will it take to get you to admit he is a good QB?

Or are you holding him to a SB win?

Cause Dan never won one. And he was pretty decent.

More games like the Pats and Steelers (where really Daniel Thomas bailed him out but I'll give him credit too) and less games like the Jets in week 17 (Bills line murdered him so I won't count that, we held the jets to no sacks). I'm not anti-Tannehill though I do believe in him. Just want to see more consistency from him.

We'll find out a lot this season. When I look at the Bills, Dolphins and Jets I think we can throw all of the unit rankings that are being discussed here right out the window. If one of the 3 teams gets superior QB play they'll be the biggest threat to the Pats. I hope it's us.

I'm not an 'anti-Tannehill' guy, but here's what I want to see:

Fewer stinker games. More consistency. I've given him a lot of slack because I honestly believe that what he was sent out to work with was pretty lousy in the past, and because I think GB/aTm fans were absolutely right about the Shermanator. But I think that the team around him continues to improve, and I do not expect another complete OL disaster this season while running out of weapons down the stretch.

Simply put, he needs to show the level of play he is capable of on a more consistent basis. I can live with one awful game out of 16 (even great QBs have one stinker now and then), but 3-4 is too many. He doesnt' have the best supporting cast in the NFL, but I no longer think he has a dreadful one.

I'm curious too. I mean, I can admit that he needs to improve to become our franchise QB, but I strongly believe he will! I think this year will tell us a lot!

Wins, obviously. A large section of football fans can't help but associate good QB with wins and bad QB with loses. They know better, but they just can't help themselves.

This includes a lot of former players who are now announcers, too.

Very simple.

What does he have to do to get you to believe in him?Nothing, i will never believe in him

Playoffs? QB rating? Yards? TDs? PLAYOFFS lol dink and dunk rating lol tds not alot campared to his ints yards padded by other players

What will it take to get you to admit he is a good QB? Nothing, he is not a good QB

Or are you holding him to a SB win?No, he will never get there.

Cause Dan never won one. And he was pretty decent.

Consistency. That is all. You can't throw for 300+ with 3 td's vs NE and follow it up with 2 abysmal games to sub par opponents.

Since you are nothing but a troll, your opinion is worthless. Keep it secret next time. I was asking knowledgeable fans, not children.

When I was little I had a dog named flip.

I might be in the minority here, but I really appreciate your honesty. I think I've been around enough football boards to know that some people just don't like a player and won't ever think he's any good.

You're brave enough to be candid about it, which is refreshing.

This is simple. I'll answer for them.

He simply needs to play for another team. Every one of their complaints (even the exaggerated and fabricated ones) gets excused when discussing QBs on other teams.

QBR - Luck
Record during first two season - Newton
Inconsistent play - Wilson
Not winning the "big game" - Matt Ryan
Calling OL issues an excuse - Matt Ryan
Getting sacked at too high of a rate - Wilson, Flacco
etc

I'll add to JDWs thoughts. There are guys on a forum that commit to a belief and nothing will change their mind. Of those, a small percentage want failure so they can give it the old ""I told you so."

He needs to be consistent, not leave points on the field and play big when they need him most.

Assuming there are no injuries that are any worse than what any other team usually ends up with, the Dolphins have to either win 9 games, or his stats have to really jump out at you, which would show that the team is losing games for other reasons.

The bottom line is that the team has spent a lot money and draft picks upgrading the O-line and got him a new offensive coordinator. The Tannehill apologists have said that these were the two things that have prevented him from taking the next step. If we're seeing the same thing as last year, it means that his getting sacked all the time has as much to do with him as the O-line and that Sherman's offense was stale and predictable because the QB was stale and predictable. And if that's the case, what we have on our hands is a QB that will never lead the team to the playoffs, i.e. will never take a team anywhere, so what would be the point in keeping him around when you'll only have to start paying him a ton of money for 8-8 and 7-9 seasons.

I'm not "anti-Tannehill" but I'd like to see him hit Wallace when he's open on a deep route.
