[h=1]Fins prepare for crowd noise . . . at home[/h]Posted by Mike Florio on September 8, 2011, 11:40 AM EDT

With a 1-7 record at Sun Life Stadium in 2010, it’s fitting that the Dolphins would feel like strangers in their own home.
And so, as David Hyde of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel points out (via our pal Tom Curran of CSNNE.com), the Dolphins are pumping in crowd noise to prepare for the throng of Patriots fans who are expected to show up on Monday night

:bobdole:

Im really starting to feel Nublar more and more on this situation. Its one thing that we arent selling tickets, but the fact that our coach has to go to this length is just utterly ridiculous. Ive never heard of any team in the league needing to do this. Im not suggesting Sparano is wrong for prepping the team in this manner either. Just the fact that he would even have to consider it is a joke.

South Florida phins fans can do better than this. I dont care how poorly we played at home last season or how many NE and NY transplants live in the area. When it gets to the point that their fans not only drown out the fans of the supposed home team, but force the HC to prepare the offense for crowd noise from the opposing teams fans, something is seriously wrong. Get your **** together S.Florida phins fans.

It's utterly mind blowing to me that fans in Florida can't show up to support their team. Hell, I live 1800 miles away from Miami and I make it to normally one home and away game a year, so don't give me any of that "it costs to much BS". It's about supporting you team through thick and thin, no excuses. I Can't wait for Jan 1. Warm weather, the Fins and New Years Day. Gotta love it.

S florida fins fans suck. Not all of them--but most of them. I am in NJ and whenever the fins play locally I am there. Maybe one day Ill be in south florida at ALL the games

Also at practice today it was reported that WR's and OL practiced making tackles for 2 hours in preparation for preventing a multitude of pick-6's. Just kidding. But not really.

I am so sick of the antifins media

Their is no one to blame except the fans for this story. Hell even the players for the past week have been waving their pom poms trying to get this fan base excited for this season.

Sadly just another piece of evidence proving that we house the worst fans in the country, across all sports, in South Florida.

Pathetic.

This just bothers me so bad. I simply cant listen to the excuses anymore. Last week when discussing the troubles selling tickets, I almost wanted to believe that spin. But, the reality is its just pure BULL****. Lets look at some facts here.

1) This is a MONDAY EVENING game. So the idea that there is so much **** to do in South Florida just dosent fly. I mean really, are people hanging out at the beach looking at hot chicks in bikinis on a Monday evening as much as they would be on a weekend during the day? I dont live in S. Florida, so Im guessing, but it would make sense that it just isnt the case. I find it hard to believe there are just so many great alternatives for entertainment on a Monday evening. What are you gonna do? Take your girlfriend out for dinner and drop $40 to go to the theatre to see Spider Man 12? Get real. Youre telling me that $100 would be better than the cost of a pair of tickets, parking, and a couple drinks to go to the game? I dont buy it.

2) Its the beginning of the ****ing season. Its a clean slate. Were 0-0. We need this win. Look, I for one am not nearly as optimistic as I usually am about the season and I certain understand the frustrations that come with being 1-7 at home last year. I get all of that. This is the first year in quite a while I havent predicted the phins to make the playoffs. But, despite that there is no way Im just throwing in the towel before we even play the first ****ing game. And no real fan would IMHO. The team needs the support of the fans. If this thing is 50/50 in Pats fans vs. Phins fans at the stadium, its almost like the local fans are ****ing enabling the team to lose. Its ****ing lame.

3) Im fully aware that if this team drops these first two home games, they are starring down the barrel of something ugly real early. After last seasons 1-7 home performance, its the last thing this team needs. With 3 tough road games to follow, a 1-4 or 0-5 start could easily lead to disaster. I mean face it, at that point there would be no hope. So why in the world would the fans not show up in full force for game one hoping the phins can get this thing headed in the right direction early on? It baffles me. Its a ****ing divisional game on national TV to open the season. A game against the team almost every suspects to contend for a championship this year. There is simply no excuse for those who can afford it to not be there if they are real fans.

Having said all of that the reality is simply this. This local fanbase is a ****ing joke. They are fair weather as ****. Not even showing up week 1 is an absolute disgrace, especially considering all of the circumstances involved. The national fanbase of this team is much stronger than that of the people who live in the city where the team plays. Its just that simple. I cant listen to the spin anymore.

And dont give me the economy bs either. You cant tell me there arent enough people with money in a city like Miami who could be at that stadium supporting that team. If people cant afford to go, I can understand that. But, there are people who can and they simply arent going. If we were deep in the season with no hope of a playoff birth and having played terrible at home throughout, it would be different. But, its week ****ing one and the fans of this team could care less. Well, fans isnt the right word. They arent fans at all.
