This is off-topic, but I'll ring in...
Trading Odom + Grant + 1st Round Pick = Too much
Let's face it, Odom is a young up and comer with great potential, Grant is a great rebounder and defensive player, and Shaq is a cry baby.
He's only got a few season left in him too IMO. He doesn't play with the same intensity he use to, and he's lazy. Right now, the Heat is fast, young, and explosive.
Without Odom and Grant, things could get worse....
I'm sorry, but there are plenty of options at C other than Shaq. Less media hyped, and less expensive too. Shaq can play elsewhere as far as I'm concerned, because wherever he goes, he'll probably be retiring after about two seasons....
We need to keep what we have, and add the best Center we can find. Worry about it later, and keep the current unit intact...
HEAT RULES!!!
Well, responding to my original post now that the Shaq deal is officially done, I have to adjust my stance somewhat....
I'm a big HEAT fan, and I've been a season ticket holder for about 8 years now.The 2003 HEAT were one of the most exciting, and well groomed young teams emerging out of the East, and all they really needed was to add a decent C this off-season IMO....
Well, now we've got Shaq. In the process however, we lost my favorite player L. Odom  , a great leader in B. Grant  , a fresh young up and comer in C. Butler  , and a first round draft pick. That's even more than I expected yesterday when C. Butler wasn't relly oart of the deal...
My problem with this senario???....
Shaq is just one man. He's getting old, and he's also a very unpredictable person IMO. I worry that he may not fit in down here, and I worry that he could destroy the team chemistry...
Someone stated in this mornings news paper, "Automatically you're the best team in the East if you have Shaq on your team."........
Really??? I thought the Detroit Pistons were this years NBA Champions??? If I recall correctly, they are from East too....
Oh, and didn't they beat the Lakers, who had not only Shaq, but a load of talent with Kobe, Payton, Malone, ect ect....
I have to support this team, and I WILL!! I'm really excited too see Shaq in action. Can we get by the Pistons though????....I'm not so sure....
LET'S GO HEAT!!!!
