Shelley Smith Leaves N.E. w/o deal

When are people going to get that it doesn't matter we're only in day 3 of free agency? What matters is who's still out there. We need 4 new starters up front and rght now we have 2(they're both very good) so we need 2 more.

Probably the same time people realize there is a salary cap and you can't always sign ALL the best players at the positions of need. Miami has already signed the three top free agents at their position. There are 31 other teams out there making offers as well...relax things will work out and I promise you the line will be better than last year.
 
Would be really excited it they signed him, he is one the guys I wanted them to look at at guard too. And i heard a rumor of miami calling about Evan Dietrich-Smith Center from Green Bay. I wanted them to get him all along and move pouncey to guard, if this all happens, i will be one happy phin.
 
That's an interesting idea i would refer to hoops on this but in college Pouncey was a better guard then center, i think moving him to guard if we sign a good center would be a good idea. It seemed to me that our line drew more defenders offside when Pouncey was out

Pouncey was rated the best pulling guard coming out, but too bad he moved to center...LOL Many people were down on him playing center because early in his final year at UF he had some bad snaps, but I think after the third game he didn't have another. I am not a fan of moving Pouncey unless you can replace him with a proven center as I think it's harder to find a good center than it is a good guard, and Pouncey is arguably one of the top centers in the NFL now. I think he would be one of the top guards as well and we already see how he pulls as a center, imagine what he could do as a guard?
 
Lets sign them both, i don't like Finnegan as a 1 but as a nickel i think he would do well
 
Don't let him leave without a contract. Immediate upgrade at a position of need. After that work on trying to get Streif to come for a visit.
 
i would like to see us sign detrich smith for interior depth provided the moneys right i guess take a flier on this shelley smith guy and sign wade smith and just bring em all to camp with the rookies...and hope like hell benton is worth his money cause he's gonna earn it with this motley crue

and hickey don't draft any red shirt olinemen...we need nfl ready draft picks on the oline
 
A way to make the line work is to bring in competition to camp. However, there is fine line of competition and not allowing chemistry with the five you eventually select.
 
Shelley Smith update??

Any new information on Smith? Saw all kinds of posts that he will be a dolphin by 5 p.m. and I haven't seen anything since. did he make it down and what happened?
