Shelley Smith Leaves N.E. w/o deal

I think his meeting in NE lasted longer than expected. Saw on twitter that he will meet with the Dolphins tomorrow, along with Finnegan.

Robi(finatic1480?) is saying on twitter that someone said Smith signed or agreed to a deal, I would take it with a grain of salt as i don't trust the source, this dude said it earlier today and he is rehashing it.

Per @PatriotsSB49 Given the deal Shelley Smith has agreed to, he is expected to start or at least compete for a starting.

According @PatriotsSB49 Shelley Smith has accepted or agreed to a deal with the #Dolphins. Also reported Browner was signing with NE.

Here is his source's twitter page, so take it as you will, but I call BS.

We have offered Shelley Smith a contract

I'm told the Dolphins have made an offer to Shelley Smith. He has offers from other teams, as well. Still a fluid situation.

This is a true free agent visit. I'm told it is important for Smith to meet the coaches, get a feel for the organization.

Would be surprised if Shelley Smith doesn't sign with Dolphins. He knows Benton, Miami has money and big OL holes.

Smith being picky?

Why shouldn't he be....too many guys follow money and end up in situation that are not good fits...maybe he wants to go to a team he feels he has the best shot of starting and being happy.

if Smith is someone they view as a starter don't let him leave the building today

Could be an important signing for us if both sides feel it's the right fit. I'm glad they are doing this also, because as pointed out, some just take the most money and get into a horrible fit and don't work out. We've had a few of those, so I'm hoping we do it right this time.

we 'may' or may not sign a RT ... but definitely believe we sign a quality G ...

doubt that MIA lets Smith leave without a contract - unless his demands are silly ...

Thomas was damaged goods #3 last year ... a healthy, good offseason should show some serious improvement, but not sure if that will mean he can take over one of the positions. I sure hope so though!

Brenner needed to get much stronger ... and who knows with Ola .... as long as one is good enough to earn a spot -- otherwise, you definitely know what we are drafting no worse than RD 2 this year ...
