Sherman Fired

DAMN! i thought i had breaking news but twitter beat me aww well at least I wasn't lying and my source was legit haha

Funny how you passed along your "sources" info 2 minutes after it was already posted on Twitter. Nice try, owned by teh Twitterzzzzz

I'm interested to see if Philbin takes on more offensive duties (play calling etc..) and just promote someone to OC internally or if they go outside to fill the vacancy.

Philbin concludes: "On behalf of the entire Miami Dolphins organization I want to wish Mike and his family the very best in the future.”

Statement from Joe Philbin:

“I would like to thank Mike for his contributions to the Miami Dolphins. Mike has been a mentor to me throughout my coaching career, dating back to 1979. He is a man of great integrity, dedicated to his family, his team, his players and his profession. On behalf of the entire Miami Dolphins organization I want to wish Mike and his family the very best in the future.”

Joe Philbin DID NOT want to fire Mike Sherman. Owner Stephen Ross wanted him out. Philbin succumbed.

Joe Philbin, whose contract gives him hiring/firing power over coaches, ultimately did what his boss wanted. Otherwise ...

So Philbin caved and fired his friend. Personally I was hoping Philbin would refuse so they'd both go.

I wish we could talk about how this change impacts our offense, rather than read people bitch about the same thing over and over.

Off to reddit for real discussion.

twitter is too fast but ive had an inside source all year lol the internetz is too fast for word of mouth these days

Soooo who should we look at for OC, or better yet who the hell would take that job?

Great news, but this of course means Philbin is back, and probably Ireland too. And Zac Taylor being promoted? Great. There's your new OC. What a joke.

am happy it happened, but this means that philbin and ireland are most likely safe cuz if they were going to fire them they would be the 1st to go then everyone else

Philbin caved meaning he is safe. If Ireland was fired that would have been the first report we heard.

Won't be surprised if they bring in a Czar that Ireland and Philbin report to.
You're reading too much Armando. The Czar idea is a dumb one, especially with the names he posted. Now if he had said Ron Wolf was a possibility it would have made sense but all of the guys he listed have no experience being the top man of an organization or are total has-beens.

We also had a football "Czar" once in Parcells, which Ross was here for, and it turned out to be a disaster.
