Sherman Fired

LOL, no doubt. Plus, thanks to Dan Campbell, I think Egnew is gonna really come into his own next year and surprise a few people.

Agree completely. Egnew has some damn good hands for a TE.. He may suck at blocking but dude can catch the ball. Sherman didn't use him the way he was intended IMO.

and for Hayden,

RT @haggardhero88 Had to be tough for Philbin to fire Sherman?>Agreed. Sometimes your own survival is more important. NFL's not for the meek

Dude wants to be a head coach, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Ding Ding - this guy gets it!!! This is the provervial shot across the bow for both Philbin and Ireland -> so they had better get in the POs whether they win the div or back in, you can see sweeping change will be in order

Backing into the playoffs? **** that. It was playoffs this year. If we're stuck with them, I want the division.

I want Ireland gone, but I keep having the same thought over and over. Is it possible the real disconnect was between Ireland and Sherman. As far as the talent/pieces Ireland was getting for the offense and Sherman was the one refusing to use those pieces? Of course that doesn't make Philbin look good, or any of them look good, but is it possible?

We all remember the comment Sherman made on hard knocks. That if he was the GM he would have cut Egnew. I always thought that was a very telling comment by Sherman. Not telling towards Ireland but telling as to how Sherman saw himself and his role within the Dolphins.

Now get someone to help fix the Offensive Line and away we go!!! IMHO the offense still needs a true seam threat at TE and Zone Blocking Linemen. Find the answers for both problems and the offense should settle down. And if Hartline's injury, is still a problem by draft day, draft another WR for insurance purposes. This WR class is very deep.

There is a broken relationship between Philbin and Ireland and the question is whether or not Ross fixes it. Sherman undoubtedly stood with Philbin.

Actually, he claimed he wasn't bringing the GB offense with him in his opening presser.

True but if the rumors that he wanted McAdoo but had to settle for Sherman are correct, then it wouldn't really matter?

I don't know. I'm just trying to find a bright spot. All I'm saying is that if Ireland goes, I'll bring an open mind into this and try to be optimistic.

Please hire an OC that believes in creating mismatches. That is how you score in the NFL.

I think the brightspot is that you could put a dozen offensive positional coaches in a hat, and chances are we will draw one who can do better than the 27th ranked offense for 2 years in a row lead by The Sherm
