Tua time!
to each his own but there's nothing "phenomenal" about brian hartlines game as a wr...drops no drops doesn't matter
Fair enough, hooshoops. To each his own. But I'm sure you hope he can prove you wrong.
of course gates is gonna see plenty of snaps...he'll be in the 4 wr sets and probably on occasion take hartlines place in some 3 wide sets etc...you want to get that guy on the field cause it will open up things underneath by keeping the safeties deep to account for his speed...if for nothing else as a decoy to get your underneath guys bess and marshall and fasano good looks...you take gates off the field and i can promise you the opposition will be playing much tighter and squatting on stuff underneath...not to mention his speed should help the running game in single back sets etc
your gonna see a lot of guys bailing when that speeds on the field...
i've seen enough where i hope down the road as in by 2012 edmond gates shows well enough to make hartline what he should be...a #4 wr on a team with a high end slot wr like we have in bess
He is a 25 year old Rookie which relies on his speed lets hope that maturity can make him a number 2 receiver in the NFL for this year. To say he is a number 4 receiver is silly. He is 6'1 and 200 pounds. hes Bigger than anyone with his speed and faster than any corner bigger than him, He has the raw skill to be Dominant. Just needs to learn the play book and have the ball fall in his lap when he burns the defender.
LOL at OP saying Gates "should" have 7-10 TDs this year as a rookie. If Marshall puts up 7-10 TDs, we'll all be very very happy. To put this in perspective, Andre Johnson, heralded by many as the top WR in the league, has never caught 10 TDs in one season.
Pretty sure LUG was referring to the Madden Franchise mode he currently has goin on :d-day:
Quick receivers are best in the slot (Bess, Welker). Guys with speed like Gates I like to see line up on the outside.[/QUOTE
i disagree, in the slot speed receivers have more space to work with. Wes welker is extremely fast also, which is why he is so effective in the slot. Davone is somewhat effectice based on his amazing catching ability and good router running but no where near what real speed can do in there.

Different strokes, not every good wide receiver has exceptional speed, and the ones who don't but are still very effective find ways to get themselves open.
Davone Bess is one of the top third down receivers in the league no matter what his physical skills are. So what if he isn't as fast as others.
i take it your talkin about gates...i was referring to hartline should be a #4 wr on a team with a high end slot wr
