Should the Dolphins move Dion Jordan to full time linebacker

I could believe a 12 pound weight gain from April to August . . . but an added 15 pounds from camp to now seems unreasonable and not really very healthy and could explain not wanting to place him in the field in more situations as he learns to get adjusted to a weight he's never played at.

I could see 265 at this point but agree that 275 seems a bit much. Players usually don't gain weight during the season, the only reason I think he may have gained anything is because of his limited workload

I think he could be very good as a OLB but his long term future is at DE. Cam Wake is eventually going to go away either by trade or just to old to play anymore. Honestly, if I were our GM, I would be open to trading Wake this offseason. I know there are those who will criticize me for that but I would rather trade a guy a year to early than a year to late.

His athleticism in coverage could really help us, especially against athletic TE's

He has been covering TEs from the DE position. I can't think if many other DEs that can do that to allow a LB to blitz, which Wheeler is good at. I'm looking forward to Jordan on Gronk in a cpl weeks.

maybe I misread the word that they are thinking about getting him to 275 but the man was at camp at 260. He has bulked up a little. Take a closer look.

They undoubtedly want him to be bigger and they are probably looking at strengthening that shoulder. But they have always said they know they can put more on his frame.

Now, my buddy who comes over for games to the house said that he read a blip (Barry Jackson?) that Jordan is bulking up and they are considering how big they want him to get.

Now, my buddy does not just make stuff up and he is always looking for the silver lining when reading one liners in articles or blogs. Is he an insider? no.

but when he mentioned it during the game, he said take a look at his arms. I did. I noticed he is getting bigger. I know for a fact that the reason for not alot of PT was his run D. I know for a fact that they are concerned with his shoulder. connect the dots.

Well, if you were limiting his PT dont you think that putting weight on could be a part of that plan and then hitting weight room? Just take a closer look at Jordan and see if you can notice it.

I do think that playing less helps him gain, I'm not sure it's the reason for less PT.

I guess you missed the rest of what I have said then.

My vote is that Dion Jordan will be the next Jason Taylor but bigger. JT was a DE until the defense changed to a 3-4 many many years later.

From what I remember, Vernon has sacks when he plays Linebacker as well. They should just plan to confuse offenses by playing both at both positions. When they are this versatile, it makes it hard for someone to game plan and I think that is great.

considering O. Vernon seems to have his starting spot solidified. I would love for the Dolphins to move Dion around 2006 JT style since he can cover and rush the passer.

As talented a pass-rusher as Jordan might one day be, he is also good in pursuit against the run, and is probably our best weapon against talented pass-catching TEs....get this guy even more reps at the very least.....oh and this guy is so fast, he is also a very dangerous pass-rusher from the LB position in the 4-3 when blitzing.

I didn't miss it and do agree he is bigger now than before and has a very high ceiling.

less PT to keep putting weight on and get the shoulder back.

When we allowed Jason Taylor di both, he won the Defense MVP. Why limit him and make him one dimensional when clearly and can do both? That's like keeping Demarcus Ware only at LB
