Should the Dolphins move the team?(in the state of Florida)

Does New York City have any "foreigners"? Does anyone complain about their fanbase? Chicago? Dallas? Los Angeles? San Diego? LOL at the OP's suggestions.

Fans will cheer when this teams stops sucking out loud. And if these guys leave Miami, the only thing I'll have to look forward to on sundays is fantasy football.

Check out this link, we do better than most when it comes to attendance... and yes I understand some games there is an influx of the visiting team but do people fail to understand the city of Miami is a paradise compared to most of the other teams around the league. I mean who the hell is buyig a plane ticket to go to Detroit, Buffalo, New England, Cinci, Cleveland, KC, Washington, Baltimore, etc...People make these games there vacation and go out of their way to get tickets.

i understand and get what ur saying, but what about back in the 70s and early to mid 80s when the Dolphins were consistently fielding winning teams...fans down there were certainly passionate about them back then...i think all we have to do is get back to consistently fielding a winning team year in&year out and those same fans down there might re-discover their passion for the team...i'm from Florida myself, but i now currently reside in upstate NY due to having been in the Army, and i've met some phin fans up here who are extremely passionate about the team. like i said,i just think we need to get back to fielding a winning team and those problems will be worked out...just my take
The strong fan base of the 70's and 80's have all left miami and now live in central florida.

Ok hear me out. Miami is full of foreigners that don't like or understand football. The teams that are good in the NFL have fan bases that are extremely passionate about there team. The dolphins have a passionate fan base, but I don't think it is that strong in Miami and south Florida due to the influx of immigrants. The Dolphins have more fans spread across the country than in south Florida. Do you think the Dolphins would fair better in Orlando with a big *** new state of the art stadium? I think they would. The fans that are in south Florida would make the 2hr drive to the new stadium and more people from Ocala, Gainesville, Tampa, and Jacksonville would come to the games and be more outspoken about the team. Cowherd said it best when he said, on his show, that the successful teams in the NFL have fans that CARE!!!! we all care out this team and there are people that care about the team in Miami, but there is not enough people in Miami screaming for results because it is all about parting, jersey shore and tons of people can't speak English and don't go to the games.

Umm Orlando is probably more, or at least just as, transient than/as Miami. Orlando didn't start getting big until the 80's. Most of it's population have been there for less than 2 generations, and they identify with the state from which they came. I pretty much grew up in the suburbs around there and knew very few people who considered themselves Floridians. Take a look at a magic game when they play the Celtics or the Knicks if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Miami is a profitable franchise, and an NFL presence in Miami is money for the NFL because of Super Bowls.

Why do you think they don't play super bowls in Los Angeles?

the whole state of Florida is full of people from somewhere else so I dont think that it would make a difference.

I have never been to the city of Miami and obviously have not been fortunate enough to attend a Dolphins home game.

As a fan this far north, I can tell you what I see when we play on TV and things I've heard from fans who do attend games regularly in South Florida.

1. Whenever the Dolphins are on TV, whether it be a huge prime time game or just a regular Sunday day game, the fans are never loud. I understand that the seats are set really far back from the field when compared to other NFL venues, but I can't be sure whether or not that's to blame for the lack of crowd noise or if the home crowd down there really is just that lousy.

2. There are always TONS of other teams fans there. I realize this can't be stopped and likely has to do with the allure of moving to South Florida. There are a lot of transplants down there that have probably brought their love of their hometown teams to Miami with them. There's really no way to stop this unless Dolphins fans just rush to buy up as many of the tickets as possible. That's not going to happen as long as we produce a mediocre result year in and year out.

3. Ross took away the option of us having early games at the beginning of the season because so many fans apparently complained about the heat. The heat is a major advantage to playing in Miami and we need to take full advantage of that. Our players practice in it, they are used to and it is to our benefit to use that. If fans don't want to bake in the sun, maybe they shouldn't be going to an outdoor stadium in South Florida in the first place? Do you really think the Packer fans or even the Jet fans complain about the cold weather in their outdoor stadiums in the dead of winter? Doubtful.

4. I have heard from SEVERAL fans in many different places that they have been yelled at by other Dolphins fans for standing during the game and being rowdy. I understand that there's a fine line between disrupting other people's experience and being rowdy, but this is a football stadium, not a retirement home. The fans SHOULD be on their feet, screaming, yelling and cheering. If you want to sit in your seat and watch a football game, stay at home on your couch.

That being said: The lack of a good fan culture in Miami has nothing to do with the product we've placed on the field. All the personnel decisions and Front office moves are completely separate from that. I don't blame our fans for our mediocrity because it's not their fault. We haven't had good homefield advantage since we moved from the Orange Bowl. That's just the truth. We've still fielded some decent teams in that time, though no Super Bowl winners to be sure.

If this franchise starts putting a winner on the field, and I mean a REAL winner, the fans will come and will get rowdier. Miami simply doesn't have a rabid fan base in South Florida like the Chiefs or Browns do in their respective towns. There's way more going on in Miami than there is in Kansas City or Cleveland. That's not faulting our fans, I'm simply saying that Miami is a city that requires a winner in order to sell tickets and rile up the hometown fans. Other cities don't necessarily have to rely on great game play because what else are people going to do? Look at the Marlins-- they've won 2 World Series in their fairly short time in the MLB and they still can't sell tickets. The fans are there... we've just got to start giving them a reason to care.

While I guess we don't have the killer night life of South Beach, there's still plenty to do here in KC. The people living here aren't football fans just because "what else are people going to do". You realize how ignorant you sound?

note: I tried to google tourist attractions in KY in order to have a witty response to your dumb-a**ery but the only results I got was for Colonel Sanders and the worlds largest baseball bat. Seriously, lamest state in the union. By your logic KY would have one hell of a solid fanbase for pro sports. Guess the hicks keep themselves pretty well entertained with cousin-lovin' instead...

No, Orlando was nothing before Disney got the ball rolling and is full of foreigners, South Florida is the six largest metro are in the nation and should always be the home of the Dolphins.Despite some of the younger fans not remembering it, this team actually has a better tradition than most.

Miami is a FOOTBALL TOWN and the best city in Florida, idiot. I think your MOM, should move. If any team should be moving out of Florida, it should be Tampa Bay, with those ugly uniforms. If the Dolphins left Miami, there will a dam RIOT, you better beleive that.

Maybe back to the orange bowl a cpl times a year! We need a home field advantage again!!!!
