 There is a lot of meritable clamouring about drafting Oline next year with DBrick, eric winston, Mcneil, winston justice, andrew whitworth, john scott, max jean gilles, mike degory, davin joseph, and jeremy joseph, among others, making it THE draft for olinemen.
But Im wondering what part we should play...

If Stockar Mcougle indeed doesnt stay with us after his one year contract is up, then i wouldnt hesitate to draft a lineman.

 However, if he stays, should we draft a LT, particularly if he isnt the BPA? a mid round pick could net us, for example, andrew whitworth, who would replace vernon carey at LT. WHat would we do with Vern then? Put him on the bench? Move him to RG and move rex to C, which was where i thought he was touted when he was drafted, but who knows if can he even play there at this level.

i could live with a line that looked like:
whitworth james hadnot carey mcdougle

 If we can actually draft someone like dbrick, that line would be so ridiculous, esp coached by houck. but i think im coming to the conclusion that if stockar stays, then we should not draft a lineman at all. Unless of course Vernon and DMac suck suck suck, which i dont see happening. I also think that guard is one of the least of our worries. the only way we should draft a lineman is to replace the current weak link, C, like Mike Degory, in rd 3 or so. but how many seasons in a row can you switch everybody up?

:shakeno: ive been going back and forth on this and i was just wondering if someone could enlighten me about what would make the most sense. one minute im talking myself into it and, next, out.

the whole jason taylor sig thing freaks me out, im sure you made some good points, but i cant get past it

I think we need to see how this year plays out before planning for the 2006 draft. There are so many things that could happen on our team and in college that could change our plans in a second. Say that AJ doesn't improve and obviously Gus isn't the long term answer. If Leinhart, Jacobs or maybe Whitehurst is where we draft then we should grab them. Say though Feeley plays decent and Carey stinks a LT, then we should definitely go for one of the big name tackles. Now say AJ improves and Carey shows some stuff at LT. Then our most glaring need would be DT and possibly CB. Thats just the way I look at it though.

Yeah that is kind of creepy. Male on Male adoration:confused:

If LT is what comes at a good value and is remotely a need for the team, it will be hard to pass up.

yeah as far as i know, he(she?) hasnt answered why their is a glamour shot of JT in the sig.

if you confirm our suspicion, we'll drop the issue

EDIT: After reading the sentence under the pic and then noticing the topic is about O-Lineman, im now very freaked out.

I think some of you may need to read the TOS because it seems you're getting close to a very sensitive issue for the people who bring us this forum.

ooo yea im the only gay fin fan i know

tos shmos, say whatever you want, im scatheproof

its ok if your gay. thats reasonable. i can deal with that, now there is a reason for the sig cool

yo dude where in jersey are ya? ther ar ALOT of us phin fans in nj damn

now that thats settled...houck can work "miracles" but a stud left tackle is hard to pass up. a mammoth man eating beast with feet of a ballerina. Dbrick would be a welcome addition. most likely were going to be grabbing a QB and DT very high next year...well see what room that leaves for a franchise LT in the high first if we pick in that range

...im outside of trenton now, grew up in woodbridge and jackson

...the jt sig freaks me out too, and im sure if i saw it for the first time i wouldnt be able to get past it either

...i rooting for cb or dt in the first, unless we have a chance at a cant miss qb. i dont think the need for a lineman is there
