Should we have kept Brian Griese?

should have kept him for sure, for ticket sales, as a third stringer if nothing else. Plus you always had the chance it would catch a wave of success

Personally I think you fish should have kept the keebler elf....the guy was mediorce at best...but he did have a pretty good record against the bills for whatever reason:confused:

Everyone has a good record against the Bills.:D

Yes, I would give him another shot...If you remember right when he got good protection (wich was seldom) he played well.

I think with our reveamped OL he would be a better than average QB.

I like Brian Griese, he was MUCH more accurate than any of the other QB's that have passed through here. They weren't even remotely close.

He didn't seem like a good QB in the sense that some QB's are good leaders, he always seemed kind of aloof. Remember when he blamed the left tackle after fumbling?

I think maybe the pressure of playing for the same team his father won Superbowls with was more than he was comfortable with...

I still much prefer him over all the other recent Fin qb's even Gus.

Just becasue he made the probowl doesn't mean he's still effective in OUR system.... if you that angle you should be happy with former probowler Gus Frerotte.

greise was playing well for us, except for that colts game when ricky missed the block, and he fumbled, the coaches didn't give hima chance, his numbers were up thee with elway as far as yards when he left, he was in the pro bowl, gets to miami and looks like shid, but under davey boy allhe wanted to do was run the hell out of ricky 40 times a game, we could of used him this year

If I remember they got rid of Griese because of the Cap. That's cool, but then they give up a 2nd rd pick and pay Feeley a tone of money. I hind sight Griese could ave done well behind our new and improved o-line. If given time in the pocket Griese could be a passer, much like Collins, Carr, Bledsoe. His problems come when pressured and needs to get rid of ball he make poor throws and poor decisions. Griese is still better than Gus though.

Tampa fans where complaining a lot about him when they where posting here before our game, I remember him playing with us, and the guy was awfull, I don't think he would be doing very well now, his confidence had he staid in this team would by now be completely and utterly destroyed and he would have nothing left.

He was awful because Wade "fat slow terd" Smith was in the lineup and Griese was getting raped from his blindside on every other play. He would do much better with our revamped line this year.

Bingo. We have a winner

How funny would it have been if brian greise was still with us and next year we went undefeated and won a super bowl? I wonder what the situation would be like in the greise household if Brian had led the fins to another undefeated season? can you see it now " hey dad guess what we did it , we went undefeated just you like you guys did in 72" I wonder what Bob would say if that happened?

"so many questions , so little time and so many beautiful women still saying no, its all just a another day in paradise"

there is nothing better than a self quote by ole Rosco is there?

Did anyone happen to notice in Griese's stats he hasn't played one full season in his entire career! Why would we want a QB who is decent but can't stay healthy?

Not only that, Tampa's O-Line ain't much better than ours and he still performed decently. I'd give him another chance if he comes in cheap and we have no other option but another year of Gus.

no? everytime he gets hit he fumbles....he doesn't make any spectacular throws. He's a very mediocre QB who only won a few games in Tampa because the weapons on the offense and defense have allowed him too....

He's improved on his fumbling. Frerotte's fumbled 8 times in 11 games. Griese 2 in 6 games. Plus, our WR/TE/RB corps are way better than Tampa's.
