silence is loud

The issue with waiting for the announcement from the investigation makes perfect sense. Ross is not a guy that likes to appear in front of the media. If you have ever seen him on TV you can see how uncomfortable he is and by waiting, he can announce any firings he executed and claim the organization is moving forward following the investigation in one press conference. It has nothing to do with waiting for the investigation to justify his decision. 6 non winning seasons says it all.

Quite frankly, I have my doubts that this investigation is going to determine any real wrong doing by the organization. This is all about not wanting to stand in front of the cameras and offer explanations to the fan base.

Although I feel we need to be patient and see how it turns out, I tend to worry that no news is not good news right now. The final report from the NFL into Icog/Martin may prompt some changes, maybe we have to wait for that.

If this is the case lets hope the report is forthcoming soon and doesn't take as long as the UM debacle for instance.

I can't believe he would wait until after the Super Bowl to do that, though. That would be waiting too long.

its been 3 days now and Ross has yet to say anyone is safe..changes are coming

again you don't announce anything when nobody is getting fired. When you show up to work everyday does your boss make a formal announcement he hasn't fired you today? It's silly.

It's business as usual

I think ross will wait till next monday to or sunday to fire someone. He is honestly in NO RUSH. I just think he is being more of a friend in then an owner or boss right now. He may just want them to have a nice holiday not worrying about anything then when the holiday is over, he makes his move. Ross is stubborn, dumb, and old. He starts the firing next week. If not next week then after the superbowl.

Actually that happens quite a bit, I mean owners saying people are safe, especially after he said they will look at everything.

I still maintain, like another poster mentioned, that the Martin mess will be the tipping point. My 2014 predictions:I think Ireland is gone, and he will be tied to the Martin mess and be the fall guy. The impact of his 2013 draft is also coming out, and it's looking like a disaster. So were most of his 2013 free agent choices. Ross wants this embarrassment to go away so he will pin it all on Ireland. A new GM will be chosen, and he will have the authority to select the coach, so Philbin nor his staff are guaranteed to return. My guess is a house cleaning by the new GM, which allows Ross to walk away from Philbin without looking like he made another bad personnel decision. If he chooses the right GM, and gives him full control, some good personnel decisions will finally be made. He is not a football man and his trail of bad decisions have really hurt our beloved Dolphins. He's the leader and he needs to fix it, and will fix it by stepping back and allowing future football decisions to be made by a football man. Until next year...Go Phins!

I know it's been eerily silent and am perplexed by it. I will admit to, finally souring on Ireland and believe he'll eventually be fired. The Wheeler signing raised eyebrows around the league and that alone should be duly noted by Mr. Ross. The regression of the defense is in large part the fault of the scheme and the players executing that scheme. Clearly both Wheeler and Ellerbe were not good fits for it. They rarely were around the LOS making plays and the run defense suffered. The Randy Starks situation was also mishandled and he didn't play up to his normal abilities because of his indifference's with the F/O and coaching staff. Ireland should be held directly responsible for all of the above mentioned dilemma's as well as, the unproductive 2013 draft class and his inability to fix the O-Line situation after Long left for St. Louis. I'm no longer a fan of Coyle and believe he has the defense headed in the wrong direction. Overall, it wouldn't surprise me If several Asst Coaches are let go as well as, Ireland himself. BUT, I'm also prepared for status quo and would be majorly disappointed if it stays the same.

I haven't seen anything that has reported the announcement won't come until after the Super Bowl. Did I miss something?

If true, that surprises me that theNFL wouldn't put it before the big day.
