So Henne's still not god enough for the haters?

IMO, this is the nature of post I'd welcome from a Henne skeptic who's not, however, an inbred, agenda-driven hater. If you want to pile on him when he does crappy, that's fine and dandy just so long as you also give credit where and when it's due, even if it's to your great surprise.

If a hater can't even do that, then it speaks more volumes about their subjectivity than it says anything about Henne, and IMO impugns any credibility they may claim to have.

Ivan always labeled a water, but you know I give praise when it is due! Subjectively there is always room to improve and I think with the strides he had shown getting him to toss a jump ball should be easy! Great poise because he was getting ****ing drilled. That shot Wilfork had was crushing!

Does anyone not realize the difficulty of scoring in the redone and especially the goal line when nobody respects your run game? Teams can drop 7 into coverage in a 10 yard area.

Also nobody is talking about the td pass Marshall dropped. He should have caught that ball no problem. Henne, unlike years past,
places the ball where only Marshall could get it.

I am not saying he should throw a TD every time, but I would like the receivers to have a shot on the fade and with Henne throwing it they usually don't. That said play action would go a long way making sure we didn't have to throw fades, but when you can't run play action is worthless.

1 game without henning in the booth and henne looks like a pro bowl qb. hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I look at it a little bit differently. It was the first game of the Dolphins running a spread offense. Teams will start to figure it out. Remember the wildcat? The Packers run a ton of the spread offense and they have much better playmakers than the dolphins. The Saints slowed their offense to a crawl in the second half. Green Bay had 2 touchdowns in the second half and one of the them was a kick return. Let's just see what defenses do when they are game planning for this type of spread offense before Henne is crowned the next Dan Marino.

I dont think people are hating on Henne, he played great last night. Would like to see him throw a catchable fade in the EZ though. Man those bad boys were sailing miles over Brandon's head.

I would have liked to see Brandon hold on to the one that was where is was suppose to be.. 21-21 is much better than 21-17...

who is comparing henne to marino?

well its a good thing we dont play a solid defense until week 6. henne & co should be dialed in to this offense by then.

Whoa! Guys let's not get carried away here you want people to be logical with Henne it is a 2 way street. That Marshall drop was a ridiculously difficult catch PERIOD! The simple solution is a jump ball the smaller db has no choice but PI. Now you have to praise Marshall on the pass before that hr broke up a sure int on a bad throw. Henne had a damn game, but there is a spot or two to work on.

I'm in agreement about the Henne to hartline goalie fade crap. Makes NO sense to make that throw, period. All should be going to marshall or bush out of the back field for gods sake. That hartline fade has been around since henning and is worthless. Head scratching really. Henne also has to make the balk catchable. I'm thinking he was more concerned with not throwing a pick and was putting the balk where it would be caught or not at all. The problem is that hartline isn't 6'5" and is white...he can't jump...

Other top tier wideouts make that catch more often then not. He wanted bankroll money and he got paid. Sorry, he gets two hands on the ball and iirc into his chest, he has to make that catch.

IMO, more alarming was the fact that the defender had a handful of his jersey and played the ball over the top of Marshall. Should have been a PI call and wasn't. No different than Hawk (iirc) coming over the top in the saints game.

i really dont believe that there is jump ball pass to marshall in the playbook.

Okay. He is not horrible. he is AVERAGE, good for a 7-9 season, he will win games for you but not enough to push us over the edge. if you have been paying any attention to the NFL in o i dont know the last decade. you need an ELITE QB to go anywhere. Henne doesnt suck because he cant throw or looks robotic. he sucks because he isnt good enough to win us anything and he doesnt suck enough to put us in the Luck lottery
(BTW i dont want to hear about the Dilfer Ravens, that is the exception that proves the rule. it will never happen again)

I disagree. It happened back in 1972 and the QB was Griese

That hit his hands should be caught theory is old and tired. Lots of dynamics to that play, I agree on the pi, but I don't live in the "what if zone". For the record I blame play calling we had the look we wanted and fail time and time again to use Marshalls size to our advantage. Think back to his Broncos days and his dominating the jump ball.
