So Henne's still not god enough for the haters?

Other top tier wideouts make that catch more often then not. He wanted bankroll money and he got paid. Sorry, he gets two hands on the ball and iirc into his chest, he has to make that catch.

IMO, more alarming was the fact that the defender had a handful of his jersey and played the ball over the top of Marshall. Should have been a PI call and wasn't. No different than Hawk (iirc) coming over the top in the saints game.

The Hawk play was a hell of a play. He didn't really interfer at all IMO....

who is comparing henne to marino?

well its a good thing we dont play a solid defense until week 6. henne & co should be dialed in to this offense by then.

No one is comparing Henne to Marino. I hope.

All I am saying is that this is the ceiling for Henne as far as I am concerned. He probably won't see 400 yards again this season. Teams are going to be ready for a flex offense and it doesn't get easier from here. One thing is for sure...the FO has made us pretty one dimensional and it all is riding on Henne. That should scare anyone, but that false sense of security after one big game is pretty tempting, isn't it?

Are you talking about the one that was almost intercepted in the endzone? That was a bad pass by Henne. Henne had a very good game, but I wish he could have that one back.
Whoa! Guys let's not get carried away here you want people to be logical with Henne it is a 2 way street. That Marshall drop was a ridiculously difficult catch PERIOD! The simple solution is a jump ball the smaller db has no choice but PI. Now you have to praise Marshall on the pass before that hr broke up a sure int on a bad throw. Henne had a damn game, but there is a spot or two to work on.

i had very low expectations coming into the season with the retention of sparano/henne and hiring of daboll. i know its 1 game and we lost but i think henning was the real dead weight now. preseason the offense looked totally different and it carried into week 1. it looks like it might be a fun year to watch and my expectations have been raised.so some can still be negative but im on board for a good season. i think the defense will get their act together and the offense will be able to put up 20-30 points a game and we should win a lot of games. sorry to be positive after a loss but im just glad i have something to look forward to this year.

That was really his only bad play. The others are a technique adjustment. I still blame the play calling on the 2 throws to Marshall and 1 to Hartline it was obvious that the design was 1 read one real route, 3 steps and fire.

I get where you are coming from but I am going to give it a couple more good outings before I let the positive feelings flow. Been there, done that before.

what does "trow" mean? I am a Henne hater. I think He had a good game. But, up until 8mins left in the game, he had around 250 yards. 2 posessions at 1yd line and 3 points. I put that on Sparano and Dabol. Henne is far better than I would have ever thought was possible. I believe, that as rabidly as you have always defended him, it makes people like him even less.
I believe that this organization has made some terrible decisions on personel. Every year, when Ireland and Sparano make a draft pick, all I can think is "who?" there are people that they overlook on a routine basis. They have tried for 4 years to get a tight end. I don't like Henne, because as long as he is servicable, we will never get an elite QB, and as long as we stay average, we will never get an elite head coach. Yes, Henne had a good game, I was impressed to see him scramble. The Dolphins "hurry up offense" is a glaring weakness. It is half the speed of New Englands. For 4 years, we have been burned by tight ends, what has changed? Nothing will change until we have an elite coach and personel man.

That hit his hands should be caught theory is old and tired. Lots of dynamics to that play, I agree on the pi, but I don't live in the "what if zone". For the record I blame play calling we had the look we wanted and fail time and time again to use Marshalls size to our advantage. Think back to his Broncos days and his dominating the jump ball.

Fair enough but I concentrate on what did happen and it should have been caught. He showed visible disgust after her dropped it too. Regardless, the red zone offense needs to be revamped to suit what Henne can do. A fade to hartline shouldn't be in the playbook at all. Would Warner throw a fade to ricky proehl or torry holt/Bruce?

No one was blaming Henne for anything. The OP just wants to start something and make this an "I told you so thread" after one game. After last night Henne is the least of our concerns.

I didn't even have a problem with the Hartline fade it was there pass was just a little flat. If Henne learns to put a little air under certain passes his game is gonna explode. This year a big difference is Chad seems to be learning quickly so I anticipate seeing that change quick. Marshall is always hard on himself he wants to make every play!

I'm a basher and while I think he played very well for him, I don't think he played great. But while Brady showed why he's a franchise QB, I don't blame Henne for this loss. Our D was PATHETIC.

It seems like a trend these days that early in the season in miami and other parts that the heat really gets to these defenses....Almost every QB threw for 300+ yds..even sanchez threw for 355yds.So henne did throw for 400 but you gonna have wait and see!

Who ever is balming Henne is a fu**ing retard! Henne might have had the best game of his career, damn near perfect game besides Int in crap time. Henne had nothingggggg to do with this loss, its not his fault the oline wasnt creating holes for our run game, thus forcing us to pass more. And our d was getting sliced like butter by a hot knife!!

you got me all wrong. I have never been the type that says I told you so. For the record, I wanted us to trade for Orton cause I was not sold on Henne. Like I said before, he needs to show he can be good in more than just one game. All I was trying to say is that people who "hate" Henne were trying to find something wrong with him in a game he had over 400 yards passing and accounted for 3 TD's.Give the guy his due is all I'm saying. He was our best player last night and there's nothing wrong with admiting that. BTW, I don't believe people on here really hate Henne. They just want to be right so bad that they will find something wrong with him no matter how good he plays in any given game. In the end this thread should never be necessary as we should ALL be rooting for our QB to play good and we should ALL be happy when he does!!

Ozzy rules!!
