So, I Think The "Three Year Plan" is Done.

Not long.

Ross will get someone this off season.

He was right to make a gambit for Harbaugh this time around. **** it.
You own this mother ****er....Get the guy you want to run it.

We still can't get the concept of there only being 11 guys on the field.

harbaugh was the right guy too. and he wasnt going to be available. it was the right move. he just didnt get his guy.

, but I still have faith in our coaching staff and GM

Nice to have ya back GB. Glad to hear you are doin' better. But anyways, lot is on the line next game, I believe. If Sparano and Nolan are aware of the problems and make necessary adjustments, there's no reason why we SHOULDN'T beat Texans. Defensively, we have the personnel to be a very good defensive team.

We just gotta back to fundamentals. There was a lot of missed tackles, especially, that allowed Patriots drives to continue. We've gotta find a way to make Schaub uncomfortable and not allow that offense to get into any rhythm. Conditioning must improve as well. I know it all of this may seem obvious, but it's up to the coaches to fix the problems and players to execute it!

If the defense has another terrible performance, it just means the team as a whole couldn't make the adjustments. This reflects directly on Sparano. There's no reason why we should drop two in a row at home to start the season. Houston is no New England, but they still can be a nightmare for defenses. However, I expect this defense to tighten up (not physically of course) and play MUCH better. Time to get it done D!

...yeah but it was bush league and classless the way he went about it...imo he made the Dolphin organization look even worse...I'm sure Ross gained a lot of respect around the league from potential HC's...:rolleyes2:

just means hell have to make a couple more promises in the offseason and add a couple numbers to final figure and that shouldnt be a big deal - unless of course irelands still around and trys to cut the coach prior to week one so he can bring him back in week 2 and save a couple bucks

If Ross has any sense at all. He'll ask every front office person in the league and every journalist who covers it who the most respected general managers and general manager candidates are, then he'll take that list and see if the praise matches the substance of the guy's record (how has the team drafted, played the free agent market, performed on the field?) then he'll hire a general manager first and let the general manager hire the coach. What I fear is he makes another one of these horrible celebrity hires, trying to make a splash like Huizenga did, and then the cycle begins anew. After the debacle with Harbaugh I can actually see him offering Cowher an obscene amount of money and granting him unlimited power. This would be a debacle. People would praise it, season ticket sales would increase, then the bottom would fall out.

No head coach has ever won a Super Bowl with one team and then gone on to win it with another. Only five coaches have taken 2 teams to a Super Bowl. He had great ownership, a great front office and great assistants. Somehow I doubt he scores another Dick LeBeau. His wife also passed away recently from a bout with cancer and that sort of thing usually changes people, sometimes they can't recover from it. Things are never the same again. We all saw what happened to Jimmy Johnson when his mother passed. Football just didn't matter to him anymore. Our luck we'd get an encore with Cowher. No thanks. Get us a GM. Kevin Colbert and Tom Heckert both started with the Dolphins. I think Heckert sort of seethes over not getting more credit for putting those Andy Reid-coached Eagle teams together. He's the Browns' GM now, but is he making the decisions or Holmgren? Could be an inducement to leave, especially to come home.

No head coach has ever won a Super Bowl with one team and then gone on to win it with another.
Two problems with that argument: 1) if a coach wins a Super Bowl, his original team is more likely to keep him, thus making it less likely he'll even have the chance to win a Super Bowl with another, and 2) winning a Super Bowl is highly unlikely in the first place, as evidenced by the number of coaches who've never even won one with one team.

Those factors make the finding meaningless IMO. With only 40 some-odd Super Bowls in history, the odds are much more in favor of the fact that no coach would've won one with two separate teams. I don't think it says a thing at all about "coaching," per se.

Agreed. I think we can say without question that the Bill Parcells Era has been a woefully mediocre to downright awful.

Parcels crew has not taken this franchise where we wanted it to go, but we have 25 wins instead of 12. We had a very bad roster, and that is not the case now.

i'm sorry.. what is this about a three year plan ? and what does monday nights game have to do with parcells ? same nonsense i remember from early in the offseason. this is the regime's 4th year, they inherited the worst team in the NFL........ were we to expected to have success in the postseason already ? Also, how does a week 1 performance decide anything ?
:thanks:

 Yes, your thinking on the matter is a bit Lopsided.

or perhaps yours is. maybe u can follow sparanos career into oblivion with him after hes gone. we could give these guys 10 years its NOT GOING TO MATTER!!! sparano is not anything more than an average coach, and thats giving him credit. how much proof do u need?????? mondays performance is no indication???? give me a break. its a symptom of the problem. this isnt year 1. these things continue to be an issue under under sparano. 4th down fade? remember the fade to bess last year? new guy same call. how??? why??? its happened already! why wasnt it corrected??? spreading out not running the ball on 3rd or 4th and less than one? not even threatening run? happened already. weve been through this.

and was that not a HISTORICALLY BAD defensive performance? lets put this in perspective. this defense that everybody ran their zipper about being soooooo good just gave up 700 YARDS! do i have to repeat that???? 700. what is so hard to get???

first game of the year - divisional opponent. perfect opportunity. he didnt have his defense prepared. he didnt have his pulse on the team. he let them buy the hype. and this ****ty defense didnt turn the ball over last year either. until they creat turnovers, until they create plays. it doesnt matter how many yards they give up! THEY STILL SUCK!

guess what - they havent gotten it done. they didnt get it done last year. we were 7-9. GREAT defenses dont go 7-9 even with terrible offenses. he let these guys buy the hype, and its a joke.

poor rosters decisions, poor upgrades at postions of weakness, and lack of depth - even with options. didnt have his team ready. didnt have a plan to beat that offense. jason taylor doesnt even mention his name of good coaches hes played for. previous player and current players clowning him???? that NEVER HAPPENS. yet its happening. marshall even questioned his approach to the game early last year in the media.

how much evidence do u need dude??? we keep this guy and we are also rans for 10 years. it doesnt matter how much talent they find he is the "tony romo" of coaches. this team quit at the end of last year also. come on man, get real

if we lose to denver or washington at home to orton and beck i think the fan base will lose it
and tony would be ousted those are most wins for the FO
