I keep reading on this site many who believe this team will do well to win 8 or 9. If they do that I will be truly dissapointed. The talent level in both coaching and playing ought to be enough to do something special. A few things go our way and I fully expect that 10 to 12 wins and a shot at the division title. To me, in today's NFL these expectations/hopes are not only realistic, but in-built into the new salary cap league. We are not talking about an organization that has been a perenial loser, just the opposite is true. We have the entire infra-structure for greatness now we just need to have some good things happen, get a couple of breaks and the sky is the limit.

If this was Saban's second season and most of the players were used to the new offense and defensive systems then I'd agree with you. Plus we still need to see how the OL and QB situation is gonna play out.

Exactly! alot of these "realists" as they call themselves are on here making excuses why we WONT be as good as some of us think!! I will NEVER look at my team and think (well, 5 wins is about right) in my eyes that wouldnt make me a true fan!!! Plus in this league you never know!! I would only discount 1 or 2 teams from making the playoffs...and the Fins are not one of them!!

I'm definately a realist but at the same time I do believe we have the guys "on paper" to get us a 10 win season...possibly playoffs.

I totally agree, because as a fan, I just cannot sit here and say well they'll only win about 5 games, because that means I EXPECT them to lose 11, and I just can't ever see that happening. No matter who, what, or where, they always have a damn good chance to win.

With questions surrounding cb, dt, s, ol, and qb it's hard to predict a division title. There is also a brand new coaching staff teaching new systems. Throw in a tough schedule and I think 8-8 would be a very good accomplishment.

8-8 is possible but barring seriuos injury who knows,I for 1 wont be shocked at 10-6 11-5. :D

If I could tell you which teams would go from bad to good in one year I'd be a rich man but, there's always at least one that does it every year.

I just want us to WIN!!! 10 wins isnt out of the question. All comes down to new system, new coaching and new attitude.

Yep. they have to prove it to the fans. Last yr was a culture shock to the system. we are used to having a winning franchise. We will be back where we belong.

great way to put it regarding excuses when Ricky retired. It was too easy to fall from grace with our running game gone. This season has us all looking forward.

It's one thing to be optimistic, another thing to be a realist. There's nothing wrong with hoping for the best, but let's get back to planet earth!! We've got a new coach, new system, some new players. It takes times to adjust. Anyone who really thinks we can get far isn't living in the real world!! I guess anything's possible, but I seriously doubt that we'll be competitive this year. Why not accept the Dolphins for who they are. They will get to the championship eventually. Let's not put any unnecessary pressure on them!!:yell:
