So the Combine.....

I love me some Shane Skov, but if you are looking for an impressive combine he probably will disappoint ya.

The bigger thing at the combine is the interviews. Unless you totally blow the combine or do great in every drill, your stock isn't going to fall that much. (Remember last year Onterio McCalleb was getting all the talk for his 40 but he went undrafted).

Actually let me rephrase that, different drills are important for different positions, but the 40's, unless you REALLY bomb it, aren't gonna kill ya or make your stock rise that much (unless your team is run by Al Davis RIP)

Remember going into the combine Bjorn Werner was considered by many a top 5 player, top 10 at worst last year. He didn't test well in positional drills and fell to the 20's. At the same time you'll see guys like Chandler Jones, Ziggy Ansah, and others who excel both in the interviews and in drills and their stock skyrockets.

Also if you guys want rumors as we get closer to the draft, I highly recommend Walter Football, as Walter and Charlie tend to be very well connected when it comes to things being very accurate

I know Skov won't test well, but I still want to see his level of athleticism...on film he plays fast and he has good instincts and from reports is one of the more vocal leaders in the Stanford Locker room (something the Dolphins could use).

I'll second Walter...

Only reason Amaro would fall is he's known to be pretty emotional. If teams press him he could get himself taken off their boards.

Curious as to why. Not disagreeing, but the kid has a great work ethic, which is something most DTs don't have, and he has scheme versatility.

I thought he disappeared too much in big spots. No doubt about his character, however. Nice story.

Definitely want that huge target on our team. Notre Dame just produces TEs

He is exactly what we are missing. We have Wallace to go deep, Hartline to move the chains, Gibson, Matthews and Clay are all effective in the middle we just need a huge target the QB can fling it up to and trust to win the challenge in the air.

I would like a big catch radius guy in FA or the draft. Brandon Pettigrew and Scott Chandler are FA's this year. Niklas, Ebron, Amaro and Fiedorowicz are all big catch radius guys.

All guys I would take in the Draft...Niklas and Fiedorowics are 2 that could be their in the second (or at least one of them) and both are good blocking as well as catching.

Which players are you most interested in seeing how they perform?

For me it is Shane Skov and XSF.

I like the film I have seen on both and want to see if they have the athleticism to match.

I can't believe it took until now to talk about this. Thank you!

so watching tape on some of the guys mentioned (for those that are interested go to Draft Breakdown), and the thing about Amaro I don't like is that if he isn't involved he just gives up. When he gets the ball, he'll fight for every inch, but if he looks back and the ball isn't coming his way he mopes. Also tends to drop the easy pass

There is something about Amaro that I do not like. Maybe that is it. I love the catch radius, but I wonder about his attitude.

To me he seems like a giant slot WR....I don't watch Texas Tech so I'm not sure how his blocking is and from the few video I have seen of him he doesn't line up with his hand in the dirt often...

To me I would prefer a guy who is more of a complete package.

He doesn't line up with his hand on the ground much, but Tech does run a lot of screens. When Amaro's into the game, he's actually a pretty good blocker (see his Oklahoma State film), but in games when he's getting frustrated he gives up on the play easy.

He isn't afraid of making the tough catch and getting hit. As long as he's getting opportunities he'll do what he can.

C.J. Fiedorowicz is not "run of the mill". I am not saying he is going to be Tony Gonzalez. However, He is huge target. He can do things that a balanced offense needs from a TE. He is a better route runner than he is given credit for. Plus, a team can get him him in round 3 or 4. I like the kid.

Don't sleep on the Joe Philbin/Iowa connection here.

Coach/GM presser postings are out; Hickey speaks Thursday around 2pm/est... umm.. Joe?.. Joe?!.. hello??

let's hope joe knows better...you obviously do not...i'm not interested...

Because I'm Canadian, I have to say I pay attention to the Canadians at the combine, who are generally nothing special, but often end up in the CFL (which I also watch). So for me this year it's Bo Lokombo (an athletic OLB from Oregon), Brent Urban (long, surprisingly athletic DE from Virginia), and of course John Urschel (OG, Penn State, winner of Campbell trophy and way too smart to be playing football - see http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2014/st...l-makes-nfl-combine-predictions-espn-magazine )
