So the Pats will most likely let Welker walk. Do you think we have a shot?

You're kidding yourself if you don't think that, even as a slot guy, Welker is a Top 5 WR in the league. He's going to get a silly-huge deal from someone.

No way, getting old and has a bum knee, too. We had our shot, one of the all-time blunders, but move on...

this is ot but you guys see that new back and forth debate topics thing the nfl network is gonna force feed us with this season with wyche and that kreigel guy i think he is??? just god awful...neither one of them knows what the heck they're talking about and its gonna just be you take one side on this and i'll take the other garbage...i can't wait til they cancel that crap

welker is a matchup nightmare in the slot...eats up just about anyone you put in front of him...if i'm not mistaken the pats have the ability to tag him again next year so if he puts up another big # season and stays healthy won't shock me if they do...seems to me all the leverage is in the patriots corner here

The Pats could always tag him for the 2013 season then sign Bess an UFA the following year
and make Bess into a super star

I H8 Wes Welker!!

He didn't want to be here when he was on our roster, why would he agree come back, unless we overpaid?

A few problems with this thought: 1) If he leaves NE, he'll get a big contract somewhere and I'd prefer us not to blow our cap on WW; 2) I don't think he leaves NE, it just worked out better for NE to tag his this year and get a contract done next year; 3) He's use to Brady throwing him the ball, you think he's going to be patient with our developing QB's not hitting him as consistent as he's been use to ? 4) Has everyone forgotten how he completely trashed us on the way out the door? I doubt our FO has.

Can we please learn from the patriots model, its not by fluke that they have been this good for this long. If they don't want to keep him, i don't want him here.

I sure havent. He threw a flaming bag of dogcrap on the front door of the franchise that gave him a shot. f*** him.

Welker already burned his bridge back to Miami with all the smack talk hes done about our organization. He's not welcome here even if he came free.

We have as good or better option in Bess. Why bother with Welker?

Oh the irony looking at your sig...

People need to stop with this Bess=Welker foolishness.

Or this youth movement foolishness. Give me talent, not young guys who aren't goot at football, thanks.

If you think we have had the QB play and coaching staff the NE has had to make Welker what he has become then go ahead. But on pure physical abilities, Bess is as good as Welker. Plus he will not cost near as much and is younger.

bess is not as good as wes welker on pure physical abilities...sheesh...welker is bar none the best slot in the league...by a long shot

So if you put Bess in NE in place of Welker, your saying he wouldn't put up the same type of numbers? I am certain he would. And I think we will see it this year with the first decent staff since the mid 80s Shula years.

i'm saying he'd absolutely put up #'s with brady and that o but he's not the same big play potential or explosive open field player that wes welker is...not the same concern for a defense that welker is either...teams usually man up bess they send lbs underneath and what not with wes welker...bess can make the first guy miss with short area quickness but he's getting run down as soon as he heads north and south
