So the Pats will most likely let Welker walk. Do you think we have a shot?

He would be a king in the WC offense. I think we should seriously consider signing him to a fat contract. He would only help Tannehill down the road. And if Tannehill becomes a Brady type player, we need a Wes to take that number 1 slot. Not an old washed up Ocho, or some other rusted bumb.

NO!!!! He screwed the Fins years ago. So I say screw him!

Screw Welker... I'm fine just keeping Bess, a guy who actually CARES about the organization even in the down times...

How did Welker screw the Dolphins? He was traded and the Dolphins agreed to terms. You can't still be sour about some comments he made in the media. These guys aren't professional speakers. I'm sure Welker is grateful for the time he had in Miami.

F**K Welker. I don't want him. We'll get our #1 WR in the draft.

OMG stop with the "he left us" whining. Ask yourself this...which career would you want, his years as a Patriot or the lost seasons he would of had here.

He gained a extra $20-25 Million playing as a Patriot, has went to the play offs and the Super Bowl as a Patriot. What would he have if he had stayed? Your love and respect? **** that ****. Most fans here thought he was a loser and were fine with letting him go until he became a All Pro WR.

Which is another good point. With the Patriots he is a All Pro. As a Dolphin he might have been out of football 2-3 years ago.

So instead of us believing the words that Wes Welker spoke, we should believe your interpretation? Unless you are Welker's publicist, why would you even try to put a spin on this?

I don't think Welker screwed the Dolphins, but he certainly made it clear how he felt about his time in Miami. I don't see any need to defend him, and I'm not sure why any Dolphins fan would.

Here's another thought. Maybe, just maybe he made Colt Brennan look better than he actually was. Which of the 2 has had an NFL career?

Allow me to explain. Wes signed a poison pill contract with the Pats. The NFL stepped in and brokered the deal to avoid bad blood between the teams. Basically the contract had a stipulation that read if Wes played more than 5 games in Florida he would get a ton of money as a bonus. To meet that contract would have shot the Fins way over the cap. Wes agreed to that. That's how he and the Pats screwed the Fins. That loophole the Pats found was closed by the NFL.

It's not that he left. It's how he did it. Screw him! Read the above post.

Actually, that's off. There was never an official offer of a poison pill. Kraft put a stop to that. In the end, NE just offered Miami a deal that Miami liked at the time. Don't believe me, read from the Miami publications... you're remembering history incorrectly. The newspaper articles at the time say the same thing.

A bit testy aren't you? In business, in any business, you do what's best for the business. Personal feelings need to be left out of it. So he said a few hurtful things. Is this glee club? Think guys like Joey Porter didn't have some words about Miami when he was with the Steelers? It's a football team and if he can help the team, you go after him. If he can't, you don't. Business 101.

If there's any hope for the Dolphins, it's that they don't share your thinking.

The article is inaccurate. The NFL stepped and that is how Kraft took it out and a deal was worked. We were still screwed.
