So, was I really that negative...or am I right?

Its only one game. Nothing more and nothing less. We may get better or we may not. But it does prove one thing. Maybe, just maybe, before all you homers jump me and others for being "negative" and calling us "bad fans", maybe it has nothing to do with being a fan of the Fins. It has to do with being a fan of the game and knowing the game well enough to be objective and see the trouble. As of game one everything I said:

-Wanny shold have been fired
-Fiedler is not the answer and should have been cut.
-AJ is better, but unproven and green because he has only been a backup
-Gordon may be okay but he is not dominant.
-This team failed to improve its primary needs for two years running, QB and OLine
- And Wanny was making a huge mistake by not naming starters because they could not get any cohesion.

And all through it I stressed that I AM a fan and I just want the team to be successful. What I saw today (I was there...thanks Phinphreak!) was one of the most embarrassing Dolphin teams ever.

I do like AJ better than Fiedler. But if this line doesn't block better, and we can't run then it will be irrelelvant. Because it takes a special QB to carry a team. AJ may be decent, but he is not special.

Lets hope this is the bottom and it goes up from here. I wonder if any of you homers (you know who you are!) are man enough to show up and say "we were wrong!" :shakeno:

God please let this team find itself.

How many of us are sick of this same old crap?

I know I was, starting two years ago when I ealized it was not getting any better.

I was there today, the boos for Jay were unbelievable. Real ugly stuff.
 
Fiedler completed only five of his 13 first-half passes and had threw two interceptions, including one in the end zone. His quarterback rating (8) led to his benching and his benching led him into an unhappy mood............
 
i have to say, because they moved the game ahead one day, i had no chance to see it, because i had to work, but i was able to see play by play on nfl.com, i know that you saw it live and can describe it better but i thought on that one drive where fiedler threw his first pick, we moved the ball pretty good ,i think that is the only positive thing out of that game, the defense only gave up 10 points and seems ok, i dunno how was the passrush ?

i will say this, i still think all the moves will pay off and because of this i´m not ready to eat crow yet, i think 2 more games and i will have an opinion about this miami dolphins team, especially because i will be able to see the next 2 games on tv and if no progress is there , fin-atic i will be here and eat crow

you're absolutely right...
its absolutely amazing how people make excuses for what this team has become...

I love the Dolphins with every breath in my body, but it aches me to see what has happened to this franchise...

The only slight solace is that this team might legitimately go 3-13...its possible...which means that they can finally do the rebuilding that they obviously need...

Of course in effort to save their stinking jobs...Spielman and Wanne tossed away a 2nd and 3rd round pick already...

Couldnt of agreed more with those statements. Im tired of the same ol' crap. Its time for a shake up. (Hopefully next year). New coach.LSU coach(Saban?) would be nice.
 
I agree, except for AJ. We wont know if hes a special QB until the season unfolds, if he remains the starter. But other than that, ya, agree fully. I realized the same stuff, and you know what, you dont get progress by going backwards. You have to have balls, take risks, and IMPROVE where you are WEAK.

Yep, that's the problem Fin-atic if you don't love and praise every move this team makes then you are not a true fan, sorry I am a realist, I live up here near Buffalo and had to listen to all there bull**** for year about how great every player on their team was. I can't be like that I love my team and always will but if I don't agree with something I will admit regardless if it is my team or a rival.

I think part of the problem is that alot of the fans weren't around when this team was one of the best run teams in the league, without sounding foolish the Glory Years, I have slowly watched this team lose that personailty that it took so long to build. Fan or no fan the Fins are not looked at as one of the storied franchises any longer, they have become sort of a joke to other teams. I know most fans will say who cares and that is true to a point but it is still sad that this team that was once though of so highly has fallen so far.

Does this mean I don't think they can win, no I will root every game like it is the Super Bowl by facts are facts, if I was a fan of another team I would not fear playing the Fins right now. I am not syaing at all that they are done for the season or don't have a shot at the playoffs, nobody knows at this point, but again because people like Fin and others don't think that every move this team makes, and voices his displeasure when he doesn't agree doesn't make him any less of a fan then anyone else. Truthfully I think it makes him more of a fan, it's easy to follow blindly it's much harder to speak up and go against the grain. If he wasn't a fan of the team then he obviously wouldn't care enough to be upset at some of this questionable moves.

The one thing I do know is that regardless if your a homer or a realist, we all are sitting there Sundays Cheering, Yelling, Bitching, and enjoying watching our team play and hopefully watching them win.

So that being said it is only one game so I don't think there is reason to cancel the rest of the season just yet. There is still a lot of talent on this team and hopefully they start to jell and come together as a Team, and when the seasons over who knows the Fins could be holding that SB trophy.
 
Finatic... I can appreciate your post. I've been taking crap from people for three weeks...being called "negative" even though I knew it was just facing reality.
So I have felt your same pain, and now feel your same need for redemption.
Not that either of us WANT the fins to fail....of course we don't...we just simply were stating facts....only to be called "negative".

Oh, and of course I posted earlier today about the game...and true to form, people told me I was being negative and it was only one game. I was told I was "pissing on their parade".

So every time the Fins lose you'll create a thread saying you were right ?

This is the FIRST week of the season and you're already passing judgment in the form of Gordon may be okay but he is not dominant or AJ might be decent but he is not special ????
I am objective and see that Wanny might not be the man for the job and that Fiedler has proven in his 4 years as a starter that he doesn't have the capacity to lead this team very far...BUT IMO to pass judgment on guys you've only seen play 1 or 2 quarters is unfair and ridiculous...
