So, was I really that negative...or am I right?

You have lost sight of the big picture my friend.
The win/loss column is the big picture. I haven't lost sight of that.

Car crash.. the car is totalled, the wife is in the hospital, you got two cracked ribs.. but the tires are in good shape, the radio still bumps and 1/2 of the back seat is in GREAT shape!!!!

What good is looking for the positives if you cant drive the car?
Hey, but saved money on his car insurance by switching to GEICO. That is a positive on par with his wife being in the hospital...:shakeno: :shakeno:

I think the one thing that made the Fins a top tier team is the same thing that has held them back all these years, they have always been above average but not great, they haven't had the down years like the Bills, Pats and well the Jets have only had one up year but anyway, they have never had the chance to really rebuild, they just keep trying to add parts. It has made it exciting because they are always competitive but always just not quite good enough.

They have with out a doubt had their share of bad luck over the years, but great teams find a way to overcome bad luck. Hopefully we don't have to deal with a 3-13 season before we get to see the SB trophy brought to Miami, but it may eventually what might be needed. Hopfully not.

I think regardless of what happens this season they have a great team to build upon next season, but lets not be Chargers fans and start talking about next season after week 1.

I agree but the problem is, if you have one down season by rebuilding, you risk having one down year after another if the pieces dont fit right. Look at the Cards, Bengals, and Chargers. Id rather be competitive every year with having a good chance at winning the SB, or being bad each year because we tried to rebuild and it didnt work out right. But thats just me. But you know the rebuilding is going to come, once 1/2 of our D retires or moves on.

Every team has a rebuilding year after every season. That is how the league is set up now.

Carolina sucked for a bunch of years, then overnight they are in the Super Bowl. NE had a SB year, a .500 or so year, then another Super Bowl year with a new cast for the msot part.

EVERY year is a rebuilding year in this league. It's a league dominated by coaches. No other league is coaching more important.

Dont get me wrong, I hve asked tht question many times to fans, Would you rather have the Fins be in the playoff race 16 weeks of the year or win a SB and then have them suck for 3-4 years.

I for one love having a reason to root for my team until at least week 17, We have been spoiled over the years, look at the Lions, Chargers, Cards, and other teams whose season is already over after week 5. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to just be watching a game for the hell of it once week 6 came.

I think that is why the Fins have so many fans of other teams that hate them.

So you agree with me then?

It really hurt us when we were on the 20 and Jay threw the INT and then the D got the ball right back and then Jay threw another INT. I believe that took the breath right out of the O and the D . After the 2nd pick they ran the 53 yarder and then we got a penalty after stoping them on 3rd and then they score. The D was very tired and they held strong only to get the penalty and give them the ball on the 1 yd line. The O only had the ball 3 minutes for the whole 1st quarter yet at halftime it was 7-0. Gordon said he wasn't comfortable and not ready. He only practiced 1 time before the game. I think we will see a different team next week.

Fin-atic has been on these boards for at least two years. One thing remains clear about him as a fan, he is the epitome of negative. Something goes worng with the Phins, he is all over it like stink on poop. The Dolphins play well, he either doesn't post much that week, or he points out that the QB had a rating of 75, and that isn't good enough.

Sure the Dolphins might be terrible this year, but Fin-atic, you know nothing when it comes to be a supportive fan. You can call yourself a realist, or a non-homer, whatever you want, but the truth is, if I had to sit next to you at a Phins game, I would either A. demand a seat change, or B. walk out alltogether.

There is a way to keep things in perspective, and hope for change in areas we all know need changing. But you, you come on here day after day, bitching, and moaning, and whining about whatever it is that's bugging you that particular week.

Will AJ Feeley develope into a good QB? (that's all we really need is a GOOD qb with our defense) The answer is, we don't know. You don't know, and I don't know.

Lamar Gordon? Give the man a chance!

The O line? Did Spielman not do everything he could to try and make an improvement? Used our first round draft choice on a tackle. Went out and got a really solid left guard. Signed a couple guys in St Clair and Damion Mac to help bolster that position.

Should Wannstedt have been fired. Hell yes. Him and Jay should of been on a slow boat to China. So what does getting on here and COMPLAINING about that do?

Nothing.

So be the black cloud...that ignore button is just a click away.

My stance on the Phins? They have a lot of work to do, and I hope they win and get into sync DESPITE Wannstedt. I seem to remember a team last year that opened up with a 30something to nothing loss. In fact by week four, they were 2-2. They won the Super Bowl.

Of all the things we should be right now, it's upbeat. We have a new QB with an arm!

Heard ya! :) haha

I get the point. But good things can come from bad experiences, I choose to hope for the best, rather then assume the worst.

Its only one game. Nothing more and nothing less. We may get better or we may not. But it does prove one thing. Maybe, just maybe, before all you homers jump me and others for being "negative" and calling us "bad fans", maybe it has nothing to do with being a fan of the Fins. It has to do with being a fan of the game and knowing the game well enough to be objective and see the trouble. As of game one everything I said:

-Wanny shold have been fired
-Fiedler is not the answer and should have been cut.
-AJ is better, but unproven and green because he has only been a backup
-Gordon may be okay but he is not dominant.
-This team failed to improve its primary needs for two years running, QB and OLine
- And Wanny was making a huge mistake by not naming starters because they could not get any cohesion.

And all through it I stressed that I AM a fan and I just want the team to be successful. What I saw today (I was there...thanks Phinphreak!) was one of the most embarrassing Dolphin teams ever.

I do like AJ better than Fiedler. But if this line doesn't block better, and we can't run then it will be irrelelvant. Because it takes a special QB to carry a team. AJ may be decent, but he is not special.

Lets hope this is the bottom and it goes up from here. I wonder if any of you homers (you know who you are!) are man enough to show up and say "we were wrong!" :shakeno:

God please let this team find itself.

Please, please, pleeeeeeeaaaase go find another team to bring down. You're - by far - the worst "fan" I've ever heard of. Nothing is ever good enough for you and you whine, whine, whine about every little thing; shut the h*ll up already!

I heard the new Bud Light commercial today where they sing about the abnoxious fan who sits up in the 30th row shouting obsenities and lending moronic tips and I really thought of you when the announcer said "...if you haven't got something nice to say, say it as loud as you possibly can." You're that guy; how does it feel?

Nobody wants you around here anymore so, do us all a favor: BAN YOURSELF!!

Please, show relevant rebuilding years in recent Dolphin history.

New England had the same basic "cast" in 2001, 2002, 2003.

If every year is rebuilding year, coaches's contracts should only last a year. It's win or bust!

What you're saying, and excuse me for saying this, is completely, utterly ridiculous. Yes, rebuilding years are neccesary once in a while. But not ALL THE TIME. In the last 10 years, the Dolphins have had 1 - 1996. They basically changed the whole team except for Marino. 2001 cannot be considered rebuilding, since the core of the team - the defense- remained virtually intact. The offense wasn't completely overhauled, either.

If you consider rebuilding as to let a few players go and let other few in, then yes, every year is rebuilding year. But if that's your concept of rebuilding, then no team is ever built. EVER. Personel movements happen all year long...
