So, was I really that negative...or am I right?

If you go by last year, this game is an improvement. Last year the Titans KILLED Miami. This year they just barely beat them. We are on the right track.

Mark my words, D IS THE BEST. ok so we let up a 100 yd rusher ....so did cincinati last year, that dont mean S**t, Personally, this team seems more "together" than it ever did since ricky joined it. I mean wanny, now, after this game actually seems like he's strung out on a rope and is READY to win F**K the consevative S**T LETS DO IT COME ON!!!! WE GOT IT MAN GORDAN MINOR KONRAD (next week), CHAMBERS BOOKER, man......i'm waiting for dallas games week after week, WTF was that last year, COMEON, we can do it...!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course your right. You love this team as much as I or anybody else does but the truth is the truth.

I feel AJ can be a very good quarterback with a decent O-line, I think we win this game if he played the first half.

I think Gordon can be an excellent back with better blocking, even Ricky looked like nothing special with a bad line.

Fin-atic has been on these boards for at least two years. One thing remains clear about him as a fan, he is the epitome of negative. Something goes worng with the Phins, he is all over it like stink on poop. The Dolphins play well, he either doesn't post much that week, or he points out that the QB had a rating of 75, and that isn't good enough.

Sure the Dolphins might be terrible this year, but Fin-atic, you know nothing when it comes to be a supportive fan. You can call yourself a realist, or a non-homer, whatever you want, but the truth is, if I had to sit next to you at a Phins game, I would either A. demand a seat change, or B. walk out alltogether.

There is a way to keep things in perspective, and hope for change in areas we all know need changing. But you, you come on here day after day, bitching, and moaning, and whining about whatever it is that's bugging you that particular week.

Will AJ Feeley develope into a good QB? (that's all we really need is a GOOD qb with our defense) The answer is, we don't know. You don't know, and I don't know.

Lamar Gordon? Give the man a chance!

The O line? Did Spielman not do everything he could to try and make an improvement? Used our first round draft choice on a tackle. Went out and got a really solid left guard. Signed a couple guys in St Clair and Damion Mac to help bolster that position.

Should Wannstedt have been fired. Hell yes. Him and Jay should of been on a slow boat to China. So what does getting on here and COMPLAINING about that do?

Nothing.

So be the black cloud...that ignore button is just a click away.

My stance on the Phins? They have a lot of work to do, and I hope they win and get into sync DESPITE Wannstedt. I seem to remember a team last year that opened up with a 30something to nothing loss. In fact by week four, they were 2-2. They won the Super Bowl.

Of all the things we should be right now, it's upbeat. We have a new QB with an arm!

Yep, that's the problem Fin-atic if you don't love and praise every move this team makes then you are not a true fan, sorry I am a realist, I live up here near Buffalo and had to listen to all there bull**** for year about how great every player on their team was. I can't be like that I love my team and always will but if I don't agree with something I will admit regardless if it is my team or a rival.

I think part of the problem is that alot of the fans weren't around when this team was one of the best run teams in the league, without sounding foolish the Glory Years, I have slowly watched this team lose that personailty that it took so long to build. Fan or no fan the Fins are not looked at as one of the storied franchises any longer, they have become sort of a joke to other teams. I know most fans will say who cares and that is true to a point but it is still sad that this team that was once though of so highly has fallen so far.

Does this mean I don't think they can win, no I will root every game like it is the Super Bowl by facts are facts, if I was a fan of another team I would not fear playing the Fins right now. I am not syaing at all that they are done for the season or don't have a shot at the playoffs, nobody knows at this point, but again because people like Fin and others don't think that every move this team makes, and voices his displeasure when he doesn't agree doesn't make him any less of a fan then anyone else. Truthfully I think it makes him more of a fan, it's easy to follow blindly it's much harder to speak up and go against the grain. If he wasn't a fan of the team then he obviously wouldn't care enough to be upset at some of this questionable moves.

The one thing I do know is that regardless if your a homer or a realist, we all are sitting there Sundays Cheering, Yelling, Bitching, and enjoying watching our team play and hopefully watching them win.

So that being said it is only one game so I don't think there is reason to cancel the rest of the season just yet. There is still a lot of talent on this team and hopefully they start to jell and come together as a Team, and when the seasons over who knows the Fins could be holding that SB trophy.

Perfect.

The NFL is full of average teams and now the Dolphins have fallen into that category. How all of this has been allowed to happen can be traced to one man. Wayne. He has been brainwashed by Wanny into believing that this team is just "one step" away from the Super Bowl. Hogwash.
You see, even the average teams have a legit shot at the Super Bowl. But, only if they play aggressively on offense. Not the way Wanny has the team play. The times that Dave does go AIR WANNY, its with the guy who throws the wet bundle of towels into the abyss. Look, if this team really is going to become a top caliber team ever again it will have to be with a completely different staff and an overhauled squad. This one has been ruined by Dave. Completely wrecked. They are mentaly beaten down and play like a boxer with repetitive concusion syndrome. And it shows.

Its only one game. Nothing more and nothing less. We may get better or we may not. But it does prove one thing. Maybe, just maybe, before all you homers jump me and others for being "negative" and calling us "bad fans", maybe it has nothing to do with being a fan of the Fins. It has to do with being a fan of the game and knowing the game well enough to be objective and see the trouble. As of game one everything I said:

-Wanny shold have been fired
-Fiedler is not the answer and should have been cut.
-AJ is better, but unproven and green because he has only been a backup
-Gordon may be okay but he is not dominant.
-This team failed to improve its primary needs for two years running, QB and OLine
- And Wanny was making a huge mistake by not naming starters because they could not get any cohesion.

And all through it I stressed that I AM a fan and I just want the team to be successful. What I saw today (I was there...thanks Phinphreak!) was one of the most embarrassing Dolphin teams ever.

I do like AJ better than Fiedler. But if this line doesn't block better, and we can't run then it will be irrelelvant. Because it takes a special QB to carry a team. AJ may be decent, but he is not special.

Lets hope this is the bottom and it goes up from here. I wonder if any of you homers (you know who you are!) are man enough to show up and say "we were wrong!" :shakeno:

God please let this team find itself.

I don't know why ppl question anyone about being a fan of a certian team because one gets upset with them for all the right reasons... We the fans invest too much $$$ into our favorite teams and have that right to tear them a new one and voice our fustrations out against our favorite team. No harm done and I wish everyone would get that through their heads before trashing a fellow fan.....

Still just your F'in OPINION.

I still don't agree he should have been cut. AJ should be starting. Fiedler should be the backup.

I agree

How the F*** can you make this assessment after he has been with the team for a few days and WTF would you think a trade of a 3rd round pick would lead to an instantly dominant RB? This is the type of idiocy that causes you to RIGHTFULLY be labeled negative. We trade for what could be a good RB and you want to prove his is not dominant after the first game. The only mystery is why you are still confused about why people call you negative.

fin-atic said:

The OL is a work in progress. The QB, as you have stated, is also green.

Lets hope the outcome is just as bad as Carolina picking the wrong starter at QB last year and NE in 2002.

Thank you caption obvious. Do you want a medal? How do you know AJ won't be special?

You will always be considered negative. The reason is not your opinion, its your attitude. You are just a negative person, period. We bring in 4 (maybe 5) new starting offensive linemen and you complain that we haven't addressed the OL or didn't do it soon enough.

I believe that this will be a down year for the Fins. The extent of that down turn will depend on how long it takes for all of the new players and coaches to get on the same page. It may take a few games. It may take most of the year. It may take the whole year. In any case, I believe that the team has made a sincere effort to build for the future without definitely tossing in the towel for this season. We will head into next season with an offense that can stay together for many years and a defense that has a couple of years left but is already retooling for the future.

The OL will take some time to gel. AJ needs to gain experience. Gordon needs to get comfortable. Booker needs to get more comfortable. etc. etc.

My opinion of this team is no less realistic than yours. My attitude is less negative. Until you realize the difference, your reputation on this forum will not change.

Oh, and I will not feel the need to claim I was correct after the first (or any other game). I'm glad that you feel vindicated that you 'predicted' that an offense with 8 - 9 new starters will need time to gel. WOW.

I look forward to every Sunday..watching the team I have grown up with..play solid football year in and year out. Today I got to listen to my favorite team while holding my first child as he was sleeping. Today I saw a QB who has started all of 13 games light a spark in an offense that has playmakers. Last week I heard Larry Chester say there is no expiration date on the talent on our D. I watched as Rick Spielman NEVER GAVE UP..and put together the best team he could after his frachinse RB let all of us down to go smoke some weed. AND I SAW A DOLPHINS ORGANIZATION DONATE OVER A MILLION DOLLARS TO THE RELIEF FUND OF HURRICANE CHARLY VICTIMS. I read about Zach and Jason making the trip over to Iraq to give some much needed inspiration to our soldiers that put their lives on the line every day of the week. I KNOW that this team will ever give up as easily as many of its fans do. If you expect them to keep battleing every week, why is it so many of its fans quit before week one. I know that HALF THE LEAGUE WILL HAVE THE SAME RECORD WE DO after week one. Any more?

Does the name Carolina Panthers mean anything to you? They ran the ball more often on first down than Miami last year. They played a conservative offense and good defense and........WENT TO THE SB.

How about the Baltimore Ravens? Ring a bell? same style WON THE SB and are considered a contender again this year with......a great defense and a conservative offense led by a young QB.

But your right, it obviously can't be done.....

So we shouldn't trash a fellow fan for enjoying trying to call out other fans more than seeing the fins win? Why not? Seems right to me.

Getover yourself guys! I mean really you actually sound like a group of grade school kids calling names and pulling hair! If you want to gripe about the team do so! If you support the team no matter what great! But all this nanny nanny boo boo shyte is out of hand! If you are a grown man? ACT like one! We lost a football game. So what? We lost to a very good team. We have a new O-line,WR, And Thank God QB! Good now lets get better every week! If Miami can improve every week even if we lose this year next year will be better. We will have a good Qb who has played a season and knows the system and we can fix what we need on oline and maybe just maybe we will ave a new H?C who does not do the sme predictable play call over and over. I love the Miami Dolphins win or lose. So if your just mad and venting just say so. Otherwise you guys are starting to BORE THE HELL OUT OF ME!

The part I don't'get is people bash Fin for being negative, yet if he all he wanted to do is bash the team why waste the time and money to go to the games, buy merchandise.

It's not so much that there is anything wrong with having an opinion either way, their is a difference between wanting, hoping and rooting for your team to win and knowing that they just may not have enough. I have had conversations with Fin-atic and I can tell you he is the type of fan I wouldn't mind sitting next to at a game down there. I have sat next to enough people down there who just sit on their hands, never cheer and just seem to be there enjoying the sun, I know Fin would be up screaming and yelling on every play like I usually am. I have actually had a fan try to get me to stop cheering one time during the playoff game against the Ravens.

I see soe many posts saying the Bills have no chance year after year while the Bills fans are talking SB, these Bills fans are called all sort of names because they believe on their team, same with the Jets and Pats. To me there is no difference, I look at my team from an outside perspective and as a fan.

This is the best way to answer the question "If the Fins were the Bills what would you be saying about them right now?" If you can answer that honestly you will see what some of us see, this is a team with no identity at the moment, hopefully this all comes together quickly for them and maybe they go to the playoffs and just maybe win the SB, if this happens then you can all bash Fin all you want and I am sure he won't care one bit.

Look AJ took less than half the reps in practice, and still played better than Jay.
Gordon had three days in Miami and played pretty good IMO.

IF the OL was better, made holes for the RB and time for Feeley this game would have been different period. Give time for the OL to gel.

This team has the talent in my opinion.. I think its actually a better team... but not coached better... not coached in the way to utilize the weapons it has and play to those strengths... Every good coach knows what he can gwt out of his players.. and now how to use them... Wanny better watch that game film... he better study it.. cuz something is amiss... and I dont think its talent.
